Alert: Pondering ahead

2:30 PM Mon, Aug 28, 2006 |

Watching how much the QB's had to scramble in San Diego, I can see the defense having to win the first few games. When I think of the last few season openers for the Seahawks, I'm left wondering why the team doesn't game plan sooner. Worst-case scenario: the team loses to the Lions because of too much pressure on Matt, too many interceptions, and they give up a few long runs. Then in Arizona...

it's the Cardinals experienced QB and incredibly talented receivers versus our secondary. Fans have to hope the Hawks defensive line gets pressure on Kurt Warner, and early. Next, the Giants come to town and if the first two Seahawks games are shaky, well, revenge will be high and mighty in NY minds. And then the team travels to Chicago. At least it's a late game (5:15 pm), yet the Seahawks don't have the best record when traveling so far east. I don't want to imagine how hungry the Bears defense will be if the Seahawks high octane offense is looking more like low grade instead of premium. I know it's speculation, but the first four games are looming important.
