Reporting from Cheney: The Seahawks sign first round pick Kelly Jennings around lunch time today. He’s expected to participate in the afternoon workout. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Look for an update after 4:30pm. The weather in Cheney was perfect for the first day of full pads, cool, breezy and sunny. Perfect, except for one thing – Mike Holmgren pushed back the first full pad workout until tomorrow morning. The players expressed a little disappointed at the change in plans, but overall they know it’s a good idea to stay as fresh as possible for as long as possible. Coaches and fans are starting to get a good look at LB Julian Peterson... His teammates seem genuinely impressed with his raw talent and ability, and they are already taking advice from the 7-year veteran. Peterson is giving Lofa Tatupu and LeRoy Hill pointers on how to handle different schemes and players. This morning, Peterson stayed behind, long after everyone else headed inside, for more work with the coaching staff. It’s evident he’s made a commitment to improve and to take the Hawks defense up a notch. |
