Reporting from Cheney: First round pick Kelly Jennings took the field for the first time this afternoon. He’s a little undersized, but the Hawks expect him to put on some weight in the coming weeks. Jennings is expected to compete for a starting spot opposite Marcus Trufant. He’s got speed and explosiveness, now it’s just a matter of studying the playbook. Hawks GM Tim Ruskell has already proven he’s a good judge of talent in choosing Lofa Tatupu and LeRoy Hill last year. Look for Kelly Jennings to provide the same kind of punch on the secondary.



Grant Wistrom, Michael Boulware, Joe Tafoya, and Rocky Bernard took part in conditioning drills this afternoon. All appeared to be close to full speed.
