More press on the refs

Thanks to many of you posting links in the comments, here are a few more stories on the Super Bowl officiating:

  • Fox Sports: "I've been shrieking hysterically about the terrible officiating in the NFL and warning that some day the brutal calls were going to affect the outcome of the Super Bowl. That some day was Sunday."

  • Houston Chronicle: "The NFL ought to be embarrassed about some of the mistakes in Super Bowl XL. They weren't just mistakes made in the flow of the game. They were huge, game-changing mistakes."

  • Superbowl.com: (an official NFL site): "Jackson was whistled for offensive pass interference, and based on the contact, it's not a call you see that often."

    No seacrock...you are pathetic. Do you not comprehend that people who are not Steeler or Seahawks fans are unhappy and disillusioned by the refs? This is not about one game this is about how games will be viewed / handled in the future. Fans everywhere are outraged and noted sports analysts (even those who favored the Steelers) are saying this was a debacle.
    We are one step away of having our sport status changed to one of "entertainment" ala WWF wrestling. So seacrock..enjoy your win, but don't be so ignorant as to say it is only the Seahawks call foul on this one. You do a diservice to every true NFL / football fan in the country

    I think all seahawks fans will see that bad calls happen, its been 2 days, let us vent... We want what everyone wants, FULL TIME OFFICIALS...

    Baseball and Basketball stepped up... bad calls will still happen but they will happen less

    Quit crying Seattle!!!!! Try blaming the players for the loss. Don't be hard on the players..just admit that they could have won the game and just didn't. I wrote this in another blog section and will write it in others. I'm a long time Bills fan. They lost 4 super bowls in the 90's. Hey!!! I have an idea...let's blame the refs Bills fans! Come on people get over it!!! I know it hurts Seattle but live with the loss. It was a great season for the seahawks now quit sniveling. Don't forget trash talking Stevens' dropped passes and Hasselbeck's interception. Your Kicker missed two field goals as well. Any one of these plays could have changed the game for the Seahawks and taken those pouting looks off the players faces that were already forming early. Your coach (and yes!! I love him also!) was sniveling to the refs at the end of the first half instead of motivating his players and finding a way to get back the few points needed to get back into it in the second half. Quit acting like high school fans and live with the loss. From: an adult fan
