Djack casual catch at the goal marker, no effort to get his second foot down. Jeremy 4 drops. Shawn- not his best game. Trufant and the trick play. Big mack several great runs but no great second effort and that left him inches short of 1st down on third ending drives. Or the missed field goals. Or how about punts for touch backs again and again. Not one time pinned back. Probably a subtle Steeler moral booster. All year this year the Hawks have given that little extra effort for thos few extra inches and it paid off. Sunday they played like a team happy with their accomplishments. They forgot that the biggest prize was still in front of them. With all of these let downs and a few more. They still outplayed the Steelers. Not outscored. Yes I have Tivo and I am convinced that in the air or on the ground Ben did not break the plane. Yes djack put his hand on the defenders chest as he turned for the ball that the defender was making no effort to get to and djack seemed to get no advantage from the "push" and that is what the rule is meant to prevent. The phantom holding call. Yes a similar move that earlier in the game had actually been a hold, maybe it was an ill times make up call. With all of this I want to thanks the team for making it to the biggest show on earth. Although in a small market it is hard not feel the conspiracy theory that always seems to go against the smaller market teams. Thanks Paul Allen and congratulations to all of you Steeler fans. Sorry they had to look so hard for a MVP in black and gold, black and white would have been a lot easier, even thouh you did win. Oh and how about that stellar 22 rating for the winning quarter back. That probably says it all. See you next year.

Millions of people watch football and most have been educated by their watching. No sport is really good unless you understand the rules and the NFL has done a tremendous job at educating thier fan base. I know what off-sides is (which Pittsburg was on the play that the holding call was made which negated the first and goal for Seattle). 4)The Hasselbeck blocking penalty. This was not the correct call.
5)Nobody talks about this one, because the Steelers got robbed on this one: In the first half when the Seattle receiver caught the ball, took 2 or 3 steps, and then got hit by the Steelers defender and therefore fumbled the ball. The official immediately blew the whistle, and the Steelers defender immediately stopped. Had the correct call been made - meaning had NO call been made because the replay clearly showed that it was indeed a fumble - the Steelers defender would have recovered the fumble (there was no other Seattle player nearby) and the Steelers defender would have advanced the ball, and the Steelers would have gained momentum from the excellent defensive play and the fumble.
In conclusion, there were 5 major controversial calls (excluding all the trivial others which might have gone against both teams), 2 were correct, and 3 were incorrect calls, of which 2 went against Seattle, and 1 went against Pittsburgh. So, 2 bad calls for Seattle, one for Pittsburgh.
So, one more bad call went against Seattle. Really, if you think that having one more bad call against your team is the reason you lost, then I really think you need to think again. There were something like 156 total plays, and 2 or three bad calls do not make the Super Bowl, especially when you only had 1 more bad play go against Seattle.

Hey guys, They let themselves down. I have been a season ticket holder since my senior year in highschool 1976. The Hawks did not leave their best on the field. Djack casual catch at the goal marker, no effort to get his second foot down. Jeremy 4 drops. Shawn- not his best game. Trufant and the trick play. Big mack several great runs but no great second effort and that left him inches short of 1st down on third ending drives. Or the missed field goals. Or how about punts for touch backs again and again. Not one time pinned back. Probably a subtle Steeler moral booster. They forgot that the biggest prize was still in front of them. With all of these let downs and a few more. They still outplayed the Steelers. Not outscored. Yes I have Tivo and I am convinced that in the air or on the ground Ben did not break the plane. Yes djack put his hand on the defenders chest as he turned for the ball that the defender was making no effort to get to and djack seemed to get no advantage from the "push" and that is what the rule is meant to prevent. The phantom holding call. Yes a similar move that earlier in the game had actually been a hold, maybe it was an ill times make up call. With all of this I want to thanks the team for making it to the biggest show on earth. Although in a small market it is hard not feel the conspiracy theory that always seems to go against the smaller market teams. Thanks Paul Allen and congratulations to all of you Steeler fans. Millions of people watch football and most have been educated by their watching. No sport is really good unless you understand the rules and the NFL has done a tremendous job at educating thier fan base. I personally have watched 100's of games over forty years and I do know the difference between offensive pass interference and incidental touching. I know what off-sides is (which Pittsburg was on the play that the holding call was made which negated the first and goal for Seattle). I know what an illegal receiver downfield is and I know the penalties for all those calls. I know what coaches play what strategies and what players are up and coming or down and out. Do not insult either my intelligence or the intelligence of millions of other fans by claiming "we" don't know football. We do know football and we do know what we witnessed on Sunday....a debacle of officiating. So take your smug self-serving comments and get out a little. It may surprise you to find out what the rest of us know.
M: Now that you mention there were three penalties against the Steelers. Two were back to back on thier first posession (False Starts) I was so shocked that they actually got a third one called against them that I can't even remember it. All I know is that not one of their penalties was a momentum OR game changer which resulted in points for the Seahawks or a loss of points for them. Unlike the calls against the Seahawks...at least four of which denied possible Seattle points OR set up the Steelers to advance.
There were 5 controversial calls in the game. 4 of them are being talked about. The other one is being ignored, because it would have favored the Steelers:
1)The Ben TD. This was the correct call. See 2 photos of the ball crossing the plane:

2)The push-off. This was the correct call. The NFL decided in the off season that offensive push-offs should be called more often. It was right in front of the official, and the official grabbed his flag immediately, but missed it. He grabbed it again and threw the flag. By the time his second reach happened the Steelers defender was there pleading his cause, making it look, at least to Seattle fans, that the official made the call based on the Steelers complaint. Not so. The offical immediately grabbed the flag, but missed and grabbed again and threw it. There was NO hesitation by the offical. And, it was the correct call according to the rules, and according to the decisions that were made in the off-season.
3)The holding call. This was not the correct call. And unfortunate it was for Seattle.
4)The Hasselbeck blocking penalty. This was not the correct call.
5)Nobody talks about this one, because the Steelers got robbed on this one: In the first half when the Seattle receiver caught the ball, took 2 or 3 steps, and then got hit by the Steelers defender and therefore fumbled the ball. The official immediately blew the whistle, and the Steelers defender immediately stopped. Had the correct call been made - meaning had NO call been made because the replay clearly showed that it was indeed a fumble - the Steelers defender would have recovered the fumble (there was no other Seattle player nearby) and the Steelers defender would have advanced the ball, and the Steelers would have gained momentum from the excellent defensive play and the fumble.
In conclusion, there were 5 major controversial calls (excluding all the trivial others which might have gone against both teams), 2 were correct, and 3 were incorrect calls, of which 2 went against Seattle, and 1 went against Pittsburgh. So, 2 bad calls for Seattle, one for Pittsburgh.
So, one more bad call went against Seattle. Really, if you think that having one more bad call against your team is the reason you lost, then I really think you need to think again. There were something like 156 total plays, and 2 or three bad calls do not make the Super Bowl, especially when you only had 1 more bad play go against Seattle.
Quit crying Seattle!!!!! Try blaming the players for the loss. Don't be hard on the players..just admit that they could have won the game and just didn't. I wrote this in another blog section and will write it in others. I'm a long time Bills fan. They lost 4 super bowls in the 90's. Hey!!! I have an idea...let's blame the refs Bills fans! Come on people get over it!!! I know it hurts Seattle but live with the loss. It was a great season for the seahawks now quit sniveling. Don't forget trash talking Stevens' dropped passes and Hasselbeck's interception. Your Kicker missed two field goals as well. Any one of these plays could have changed the game for the Seahawks and taken those pouting looks off the players faces that were already forming early. Your coach (and yes!! I love him also!) was sniveling to the refs at the end of the first half instead of motivating his players and finding a way to get back the few points needed to get back into it in the second half. Bad calls against Seattle...yes, no question. But the real story is the "riverboat gambler play to win" Cowher beat the "play not to lose" Holmgren. Holmgren is a good coach, but not a great coach and certainly not a championship coach. He lacks the balls to go for it on fourth down, fake a punt, call a trick play---or generally take a chance to go for the jugular and win the game. Enjoy "play the percentages" Mike in Seattle---you'll probably keep winning, but not a championship. I am just grateful he is not in Green Bay anymore.

First, the 70% poll was a nationwide poll, not only that but 51% of people polled by the newspaper in PITtsburgh said that the officiating was bad and it had an affect on the came. Last time I checked 51% was a majority. What does it say when Ben admits on national TV that he did not think he scored? Looks like his credibility is ruined. If you are a football fan, which I highly doubt, you should be upset about the officiating too. Look at the PITsburgh, Indy game. I was going to stop but since you cannot understand that these have already been answered for you. Here are my answers to your questions again, since you are not smart enough to understand my other responses:

The fact that whenever Seattle had a meaningful play or scored a touchdown to go ahead of the Steelers it was reversed. Also, Seattle was tied for the least penalized team in the league, but now all of the sudden this happens? Not likely.
