Shameless promotion alert!
We've just launched a new version of our forum, at www.king5.com/forums/ and there's a Seahawks section where you can create your own posts about whatever you like related to the Seahawks. These forums can be a really popular place to talk about favorite subjects - a week or so ago, a Redskins fan forum linked to this blog, sending in a steady stream of Seahawk naysayers.
Seahawk fans, unite in our forum!

OK, forgive my football ignorance. When the Seahawks win Sunday, what is the next step? are we in the superbowl, or are there more playoffs? Thanks.

Chuck, when the Seahawks win the title game, they will then be in the Super Bowl. There are no other playoff games between this one and the Super Bowl. It's down to the "final four" teams right now, two teams from the AFC and two from the NFC. The respective title games determines who goes to the big show in Detroit.

See, the playoffs begin with eight wild-card teams, and four teams that have the top seeds (2 from each conference: in this case, Seattle and Chicago were the top two in the NFC, Seattle having the best record in the NFC at 13-3; and Indianapolis and Denver were the top two teams in teh AFC, with Indy having the best record in that conference at 13-3). These four teams sat out the first round of the playoffs, which determined which of the eight wild card teams would advance to the divisional playoffs(Pittsburgh and New England advanced to the AFC divisional games, while Carolina and Washington advanced to the NFC divisional games). The divisional games are then played, and the winners of those games advance to their respective conference title games. Finally, the winners of those conference title games then advance to the Super Bowl. So, you see, it is a process of elimination.

I hope this answers your question.
