Attitude counts

7:51 PM Fri, Dec 30, 2005 |

"What's the biggest difference in this year's team compared to last year?" That question gets asked almost every week out at Seahawks headquarters. Sometimes the players say it's the defense, or the experience level, but more than half the time it's an improved attitude. The players will never call-out a teammate or a former teammate when talking to the media, but it's become very clear that last year the Hawks were dealing with too many distractions. Guys like Koren Robinson who had personal problems that affected their performance. Guys like Cheike Okeafor who stayed on an island, and never really developed comraidere with his teammates. The Hawks cleaned house and got rid of all the distractions, and they're 14-2. This year's team doesn't play for individual glory, they're focused on one goal. They can say what they want about their former teammates, but that just makes it more obvious there was a problem last year. Attitude counts, look how far it's gotten the Hawks this year.

Wake up lady. The record is 13-2. You make it sound like the Hawks have already won the game.

13-2, 13-3, 14-2... doesn't really matter. Jen's point stands.

"Attitude counts, look how far it's gotten the Hawks this year."

Team chemistry and attitude changes are the biggest difference from last year and their record helps prove the point.

Big deal. I love the Hawks but at least someone could have the decency to get the win loss record right. You don't belong as a reporter if you can't fix mistakes like that.

Dean-you prove Jen's point perfectly. Get rid of the petty "bs" and distractions so that you can move forward. Quit dwelling on something that can't be changed now and work on what you have to do to improve. If she gets it wrong in the next blog then there is a problem but we should not call her out on something so trivial. Bad attitude has got to go. Enjoy this time.

It's not just attitude that wins games. It's skill, strength and experience. Luck has a bit to do with it too, if you believe in luck.
