Hawks defense deserves more credit

4:31 PM Mon, Oct 24, 2005 |

Certainly Seattle's win against Dallas was one of the best finishes in Hawks history, but I don't think the Hawks defense got as much credit as it deserved. The Hawks defense kept them in the game. Seattle exploited the weak left side of the Cowboys line, recording 5 sacks on Drew Bledsoe...

After the game, Grant Wistrom admitted he's played better, but one sack and 9 tackles is still a pretty good day at the office. Wistrom knows he's been heavily critized among fans and the media, but says he's 10 times harder on himself than anyone else. Look for a break out game soon.

As for the rest of the Hawks "no-name defense," they're working on a pretty good name for themselves: winners.

The Defense IS the reason the Hawks won!! No doubt about it. And People who are being hard on Grant Wistrom are Stats ppl, and not those who actually watch the defense and see all the plays he causes others to make, because of being in the right place when he is supposed to be there. Grant is having a great year so far. Just all the Fantasy freaks have to have the stats.
