Someone at work asked me today why I still had my voice after the Sunday's big Seahawks win against Dallas. I told them it was because I spent all but the last 40 seconds of the game sitting quietly and miserably in the rain with my arms folded across my chest, watching the game at Qwest Field. We've had season tickets for five years. They were my wedding gift to my husband, who has been a fan since he was a kid. Now I've come to be a big fan too, albeit a patient one. We both agree it's the best game we've ever seen, much bigger than a last minute come-from-behind win. This victory gave the team and the fans the one thing both have been lacking: the confidence the Hawks could pull something like this off. 9 Comments |
1999 Win in Green Bay on MNF
Great win, no doubt. But the true measure of this team will be winning a playoff game.
The game itself was horrible. Penalties everywhere. Alexander getting nowhere. So I guess I'd argue it was the best ENDING of a Seahawks game ever. Not the best game.
I have to agree it was ONE of the best games I have ever seen the Hawks play. I think comment about being a horrible game is crazy. I can respect your opinion but thats like saying watching a 1-0 no hitter is horrible. I great defensive football game, to me, is like a no hitter or a perfect game, sure its a bit boring but the battles that go on, the chess game and all the other little things make it the best kind of sporting event. And yes, the end of that game was the best part but it wouldnt be so great if the struggle didnt last until the last minute of the game. Just a thought..... Go Hawks.
If only I could give that to my father...
This is a great team at a great home... and I swear I think once it started becoming Sunday Night our guys just played off of the positive energy of the thrashing of the Texans on Sunday Night Football (proper) and won this one!
In fact, the Hawks are so good I got me Football for Dummies, 2nd Edition so I could understand the game quite a bit better :-).
