Seattle's
Trophy Cupcakes, located in Wallingford, has captured the attention of none other than Martha Stewart. On Thursday, owner Jennifer Shea is set to appear on "
The Martha Stewart Show" in NYC, where she'll show the infamous homemaker how to make "Chocolate Graham Cracker Cupcakes with Toasted Marshmallow Meringue." Yum. I've never been to Trophy Cupcakes, so I'm not sure how they stack up against
Cupcake Royale. But this graham cracker thing sounds good. It sounds like Shea's got the jitters about meeting Martha, who she considers a longtime mentor. She tells the
Times: "I'm just trying to remember that she's a normal person."

Trophy Cupcakes are FAR superior to Cupcake Royale! Much more "cake" like and just richer all around. I live right near Cupcake Royale too, so I'd rather if they were tastier.

Agreed! Trophy is to Cupcake Royale as El Gaucho is to the Sizzler

no contest! poor cupcake royale...they had the corner on the market for a short time, but Trophy is superior and consistent. Royale has a real quaility issue that has left me less than happy the last 3 times I was there (sorry, but 3 strikes and you are out).

Best cupcakes in town! I will never go to Cupcake Royale again.

Cupcake Royale is still decent. Not great, but decent. Plus, they have the lavender cupcake.
But like others have said, Trophy Cupcakes are moister and come in more interesting flavors.
The drawback is that they are about $1 more than Cupcake Royale.

ya'll are crazy! cupcake royale in ballard has fabulous cupcakes. trophy puts too much effort in being creative and not enough in taste. i really did not like trophy when i had them, and they are expensivo! i was WAY bummed as this is not a competition.. i am an equal opportunity cupcake lover.

So many important topics on this board go without comment but the comparison of two cupcake business gets 6 comments right away. No wonder this town is so screwed up. Pillow fights in ballard and cupcake arguments in wallingford. am i missing something.

Boy, never new there was even such a market for cupcake only stores. I never heard of them til that New York one opened up downtown and in Bell square. So these places are worth the extra stop just for cupcakes?
