More speculation on Thierry joining Seattle MLS

A rumor that Seattle MLS was in talks with European player Thierry Henry started circulating in sports blogs last month. And the buzz about this possiblity just keeps growing. In terms of soccer stardom, Thierry (pictured here) is right up there with Beckham. This week the London Sun reports that Seattle is willing to offer the French kicker £150,000 a week to come to the United States. And Seattle MLS officials aren't denying the club's interest in Henry. General manager Adrian Hanauer tells the P-I today: "Thierry Henry is one of my favorite players of all time. He has spoken in the past about coming to MLS to play soccer ... I am now in a position with the Seattle franchise to consider such a player. It would be irresponsible of me not to explore and consider a possibility like this." In the meantime, the new team already has deposits for more than 13,000 season tickets, according to the P-I, and fans will learn the team's official name and colors Monday at a Seattle Center press conference.

Oh Boy I am so excited. Yet another umpteen million dollar player who kicks a little white ball around. Or it was white when I played in England. Let's see owners of this New Soccer Club. What are you going to raise the
ticket prices too now to pay for this man who "ONLY" kicks a stupid Round Ball around.
And how much are you going to raise the ticket prices for all these other talents you must sign?? Oh yes what about the concessions? Can a Family of say 4 even afford to go watch a game and actually afford a over cooked stale hard dog (oops Hot Dog)?
What a joke "ALL" Sports has become.
You have forgotten just who the fan base is. Not rich moguls but the young child whose parents have lost there jobs or parents on dope and there only way out is watching and dreaming of playing sports.
BUT GUESS WHAT, they cannot afford to go to a game. WHY because of the Owners and "YES" Because these players think there S*** does no stink and want more money than the other player gets for kicking a little round ball around....

Hey, Bob. Get a job. There is more to paying players than ticket prices. The owner made his money from "Microsoft Money" so I think he knows something about the subject. T. Henry is perhaps the best soccer player in the world: better than Becks. Thierry doesn't have the star power, and evidently doesn't care about the stardom as much since Seattle is not exactly LA. If he comes it would definitely be great for US soccer. A post on a British newspaper site from a Brit said: "The MLS will be the best league in the world in 10 years... They put their money where their mouth is." Also, you will get more entertainment value from a live soccer match than any other sport. It would definitely be more entertaining than the Mariners. The fan base is there since over 13,000 season tickets have already been bought. The MLS is a bigger deal than most realize.
