Starbucks launches sweeping initiatives
Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz today unveiled a number of sweeping initiatives to improve service and strengthen customer loyalty. Their strategy includes grinding coffee beans inside stores to bring back that coffee 'aroma,' new state-of-the-art espresso and coffee brewing systems, a Starbucks Card Rewards program for loyal customers, and the launch of MyStarbucksIdea.com, a Starbucks online community where customers can help shape the company's future. Schultz says that's just the beginning. But will these changes be enough to lure back customers who've lost their love for the java giant? An article in USA-Today offers the experts' take on what Starbucks needs to do to successfully reinvent itself (i.e. embrace wired youth, cut all the clutter.) What do you think will be the key to Starbucks' success?

a couple things that I would like to see.. more coffee options.. I used to come daily, but am tired of the same options... the 'little' guys offer so many more flavors, etc...
also, they need to be more helpful for biz owners... for example, Tully's offers gift cards with my business card/info on them, at no extra cost, and even give a break if you buy a set amount... I looked into this at Starbucks as I would prefer to use Starbucks, not Tully's and they said they would do the cards, but the artwork fee was huge..way out of my budget, and no discount breaks would be given...
just a couple little items of input...
Thanks

How 'bout non-overroasted beans?
I don't remember the taste myself, but my husband claims before the corporate sell-out, the flavor used to be excellent at Starbucks. Now it's just Charbucks.
I also used to prefer tully's but then they changed their beans (they are owned by Charbucks, no? I think it's because people preferred Tully's and Charbucks was jealous)
Good thing we have so many other choices in this town. It'd help if Charbucks would stop taking them over...
