Apparently talking with the Stranger is a bad career move over at Amazon.com. First there was
Sam Machkovech, who says he was let go after blogging for the Stranger about an in-house Billy Ray Cyrus performance (granted, he was pretty rude in his post). And now Amazon.com receptionist Arielle Davis
says she was fired after being named "Seattle's Sexiest Customer Service Rep" by the Stranger. In an interview with the weekly, she made an off-handed comment about a crazy caller who called in to contest a $2.50 shipping fee. After hearing what happened to Machkovech, Arielle became concerned and apologized to her coworkers. But not too long after, she says she was let go. "I've never been fired before in my life," she told the SLOG.
Comments
She was probably let go for commenting on a customer call to the company. Most companies would have done the same thing. She violated the trust that a customer should be able to rely on when contacting any company.
