Seattle couple's NYC house hunt featured in NYT

Vexed by housing prices in Seattle? Take a break and read this week's New York Times Real Estate column The Hunt. Young marrieds Brandon and Jette Starniri, Seattle natives and former UW grads, face the travails (and sticker shock) of house hunting in the outer burrough of New York City. After an exasperating search, they find their home in a less-fashionable part of Brooklyn, only to encounter a string of remodeling mishaps - including having their kitchen stolen by thieves. "This house is kind of like a marriage," Jette said. "You really don't know what you're getting yourself into." (Via Daily Weekly.)
