New Redmond theater to charge $35 a ticket

One of the reasons why people are going to the movies less frequently is the advent of high-definition television. Why not just watch it at home? But a posh new theater coming to Redmond hopes to lure people back with luxurious amenities, reports the Seattle Times. For starters, each auditorium will only seat 40 people. Martinis will be served. Valets will park your car. But the ticket price is astonishing: $35 bucks, and that doesn't include the popcorn or a martini. Which leads us to the second reason people aren't going to the movies anymore: it's too expensive.

Alright, I know folks in Redmond have a ton of money and they don't have any idea of what to do with it? Homeless shelters, YWCA, local charities? Need I say more. Alright, I will. I can park my own vehicle, thank you! On top of that, provide alcohol to those at the movies so they can drive home and possibily kill someone because they are drunk. Now that is really smart! People are staying home because gas is $3.50 a gallon, it costs $12.00 just to get into a movie and then once there, you have to listen to people talking way too loud, people on cell phones, kids screeming because they don't want to be there. You betcha, I want to be there at $12 a shot.

This has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever seen. They took a perfectly nice theater where I could take my daughter and other families could spend time and now will make it for those few that can afford it. Seems like the people of Redmond Town Center have lost touch. This is highly disappointing.. This among all the other stores close...your are ruing the family feeling it had..Thanks
