Personally, I think that it is a fake video. Nobody is so stupid, to not only commit, but record and upload something so offensive, while holding such a respectable position. He probably just wanted to throw people off for laughs.

If this video is not a fake, then you're observing the actions of an individual who, with the passage of time, will escalate such actions and eventually turn his hostility and pathological personality on his fellow human beings. They all usually start with innocent animals, then they move on to humans. He needs to be hospitalized and treated. It's enough to turn one's stomach...

I am wondering why the Marine Corp. has done nothing so far. To disrace our country in such a manner should be punished to the full extent of the law, not to mention his sadistic behavior. If this video is real, I have absolutely zero sympathy for him or his family, and he deserves whatever he gets. The yelping noises the puppy makes as it is thrown into the air will haunt me until the day I die. To say his actions were deplorable is a gross understatement, and I wouldn't lose a minute of sleep if he actually did have something happen to him. Good riddance. There is a special place in hell for people like him, and I am ashamed to have him represent our country.

can any of you guys understand the stress these guys are going through after accidently killing an innocent Iraqi civilian? One way to deal with that stress is de-sensitize themself, rationalize how killing an innocent is OK. Our foreign policy forced them to learn how not to care about the death of innocent people, if they've already learned how not to care about anyone's death, how do you expect them to care about a dog?! Unless you have been through a BS war like this, non of you should try to talk from a "moral high ground" you are standing on.

Kevin, it's understandable that they know extreme stress and they are desensitized to violence, but I've also seen photos of soldiers petting kittens and lovingly holding puppies in warzones because maybe those particular soldiers need to have a moment of something normal, Something that reminds them of the pet they might have at home and to feel that again. No, Kevin, I cannot condone what this guy did. He's messed up and he needs to focus on the job at hand, as you well know, and not on an innocent puppy. I bet the inclination to hurt something innocent was already there before he even enlisted in the Marines.

And no, not all soldiers conduct themselves in that manner.

And it's still to be proven to be real footage.

At the same time, people like Ivy and Sarah, should not "condone" continued violence and threats against the soldier or his family.

Hi Animal Lover, I never said I condoned threats of violence against him or his family and I never would. I live by the saying "Two wrongs don't make a right" myself and I agree that he'll have to answer to someone, wether it be in this life or beyond. I also don't think his family should be punished for his actions, they can't control what he did..

Overall, if it is proven to be real, he will be subject to punishment beyond discharge. Cruelty, especially when recorded and viewed by the public, is illegal and punished through legal sanctions. Condone it, justify it, cry about it, it really doesn't matter because he broke the law of the country he is a citizen and supposed representative of.

So pretty much, obviously he is desensitized, I'm pretty sure anybody exposed to the trauma that many US troops have, become desensitized. You'd be dumb not to realize that. But that does not give anybody a free ticket out of making such a stupid mistake, like the one this Marine may have made, if the video is real.
And yes, if it is real, he will have to answer to a higher authority in the end, a higher authority named US Law.

I wish you'd define the word animal for me, because as far as I knew human beings are animals. Humans have superior brain structure though, right? Well, I guess if you consider superior brain structure one which promotes self-centered thinking, such as religious supremacy or a disregard of fact that dogs are actually living creatures, just like you or I.

The only difference between you and a dog is that a dog doesn't need an answer to life, like ones that religion or atheism may provide. They know how to appreciate the moment and life. I wish this sick killer to suffer at his last breath like he made the puppy suffer. The puppy was so afraid, so innocent, screamed with horror when he throwed him to death. Horrible. This video has been emblazened in my mind forever. I wish I didn't see it. My husband is a Marine who was stationed in Kaneohe and was in the Gulf War. He is a gentle man, an animal lover. This disgraces him as well as other Marines. The video is real. I really don't care if the family is suffering. They need to. They should have raised their child better. Wartime aside, this is sick. I hope he never has children.

It was very saddening & I was also dissapointed to see a young man do something so uncareing & with no thought at all!!! It made me feel as though a person like this could very well kill anything he didn't like,( maybe a child from Iraq) or anything that he felt like killing just for fun or whatever that sick person felt like doing it for. I think he's mentally ill, & God knows what else he is capable of killing if this was so easy for him to do, & so funny to see it done. I was horrified when I first saw this and disgusted by those "soldiers" who have disgraced the uniforms they wear. That poor helpless puppy, whining pitifully as he is tossed towards his death!

And if you listen to the dreadful video you will hear an adult dog barking frantically in the background as the baby is tossed. Probably the MOTHER dog, knowing what fate is befalling her pup!

I personally would have no problem taking a bat to these idiots heads once their identity comes out. If they can do this to a puppy, I'm sure they have done much worse to innocent people when the camera is off. Looking forward to the names of these individuals being announced.

I hope one day, that when you get killed and footage is shown of your death, no one will have the audacity to say that the video was a fake. It’s easy to try to think from the human’s perspective, but for once, think about it from that poor puppy’s point of view. What did he do wrong to have such a cruel death? What right did his killer have to not only toss this puppy to its death but also laugh gleefully about it afterwards?

Instead of ignoring this issue, if you wanted to help these people, you would support getting them mental help. It’s one thing to kill an animal. It’s another to gloat about it and take sport/glory/entertainment in its death.
