The Emerald City may be green with envy about not being green enough. Seattle ranked #8 on Popular Science's America's 50 Greenest Cities list. Factors included renewable sources of electricity, public transportation, the number of green buildings and recycling. Seattle's neighbor to the south - Portland - took top honors as #1, followed by San Francisco, then Boston. Curiously, Oakland's superior transit system and Eugene's wind farms helped those towns outrank Seattle as well.
