Seattle troupe busts belly dancing stereotypes

Ever since college, I've enjoyed taking the occasional belly dance class as a fun form of exercise. But Seattle-based Hands of Kali is by far the edgiest troupe I've come across. I haven't yet seen them perform live, but I took a lesson from Kendra, the founder of the group this week. Her troupe has funky gothic/tribal costumes, and according to their site, they weave sword play and tarot cards into performances, which are performed to industrial and electronic music. Intrigued? It seems they're recruiting a new dancer on craigslist.
