Is winning at UW everything?
Apparently, winning means a lot, according to this Seattle Times cover story on how some athletes on UW's 11-1 team in 2000 were cut some serious slack. "At least a dozen members of the Rose Bowl team were arrested that year or charged with a crime that carried possible jail time," write reporters Ken Armstrong and Nick Perry. Needless to say, the story does not cast former head coach Rick Neuheisel and athletic director Barbara Hedges in the most positive of light, to say the least. Nevertheless, Neuheisel is now UCLA's new head coach.
