Drew Carey update on Seattle's MLS team
Actor Drew Carey, minority owner of Seattle's new Major League Soccer team, appeared on the Craig Ferguson Show and discussed the latest team plans: The first game will be in April 2009 at Qwest Field. Only 24,500 seats in the lower half of the stadium will be used, and so far they've gotten over 10,000 requests for season tickets.
Also, Carey apparently persuaded the other owners to have fans vote whether to fire the general manager every four years. "The fans will do the dirty work for you," Carey told them. "Everybody knows when a guy has to go. Not just in sports but even at your job...There's always somebody at work where you think, 'Why's that guy still the boss?'"
