Reports: Bloody sponge, rags seized at Knox's boyfriend's home

As a self-professed Law and Order addict, I can't seem to read enough about the murder investigation involving UW student Amanda Knox. News that DNA from Knox and her slain roommate were found on a knife seized at her boyfriend's home are hitting American headlines, but Seattle Crime Blog reports even more from the European media, which have fed an ongoing river of details about the investigation: "Local flying squad chief Giacinto Profazio also said that DNA from both Knox and (her boyfriend) Sollecito has been found on rags at the scene of the crime." The UK's Telegraph also reports "police confiscated several blood-soaked rags, sheets and towels, as well as a bloody blue sweatshirt from Sollecito's house." Sollecito's lawyers counter he suffered regularly from nosebleeds (blood tests are pending). Police add that both the knife and the apartments had been thoroughly cleaned with bleach. The details go on like a two-hour episode of CSI. Meanwhile, back in the states, the debate rages on: Does the European media's no-holds barred coverage of Knox and her murdered roommate jeopardize a fair trial?

Is there coverage of this trial any more sensational than that of almost every similar trial in this country? I think not. The only good thing Foxy Knoxy has going for her is that most European countries do not have the harsh sentencing guidelines we have here.

I am fascinated by this story, too. My 22 year old son is in France now. He did his study abroad two years ago in France and had a ton of friends in the program from Italy, England, Poland and Germany. Many of them have made it to Seattle to visit us. All of them are bright, charming wonderful kids.

I just do not understand this horrible situation in Italy and how it could have happened.

The EU has very liberal one of your DUIs might serve more time than ten or fifteen of our vehicular homicide culprits.

A paedophile in Europe is very unlikely to go to jail. Our teachers have virtual licence to have sex with schoolkids and heaven help any parent who complains. No jail etc.

Recreational torture killings can get 3 years in Great Britain. However, Amanda Knox has upset Britain and Italy with what is viewed as a capacity for industrial scale falsehood.

Trial is no more sensational than one in the U.S. I am sure the Knox family right now is hoping for it to go totally sensational as that may be their only way of claiming an unfair trial and getting her out of Italy, bottom line even if she claims drugs clouded her mind as I am sure her family and friends, laywers are telling her to stick to. She knows exactly what happened, she was there and was involved. Hopefully her family and friends don't have a bunch of $$, because then all of a sudden something strange may happen where the Italian police let her go. I hope she fries

Just something else for parents with college students away from home have to worry about, along with tuition breaking the bank.

The girl that was killed, refused to get into a sex orgy(spell) so was murdered and knox tells 3 stories to the police, and she says it was like a dream and everything is hazy...etc.she's guilty as sin,and needs to be put away ..yesterday!!!!!!!!!
