Larry Flynt is small potatoes these days. His visit to Seattle came with nary a mention, aside from the
Daily Weekly blog, which reports that he arrived at Boeing Field yesterday to meet with law students at Seattle University. His visit was sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union, which wanted to give law students a chance to learn more about the First Amendment. Flynt rolled up in a gold wheelchair, sporting bad red hair dye. And one student, awe-struck, called him a "living legend." In the end though, the Daily Weekly says he's a worthy source of inspiration, writing: "If sex doesn’t suffer the same censorship as it did in the eighties, free speech may still need protection in a country where for years after the September 11 attacks, journalists and opinion makers who questioned the evidence leading us into war were branded disloyal and unpatriotic."

I find it interesting that this visit was not covered, but the media falls all over themselves if a politician comes to beg for money. Flynt was here to offer information to College students. Big difference.

Sad, I would for sure have gone down and listened to Larry Flynt.
One might like or dislike his products but apart from what he pushes, he is also a man that stands up and speaks HIS mind. Something that is becoming very rare these days when we are almost being pressured into political correctness and anything that risks offending "anyone" is deemed tabu. What happened to this country? We need more offenders, we need more debate, we need to get more involved and active in our democracy and care less about we're having Bud or Miller to the next game.
We need more Larrys on the barricades!
