The 'Seattle Anti-Freeze' wants our city to get social
Most everyone I've met who is new to Seattle says it's hard to meet people here. I've heard it called the "Seattle ice," and even the "Seattle freeze" – meaning that long-time Seattleites just aren't that open to newbies. They're polite, but they don't invite your to their parties, happy hours or other get-togethers. One group is aiming to beat this problem. I just came across the Seattle Anti-Freeze , which is organizing activities for Seattleites in their 20s and 30s. Their slogan? "Unfreezing Seattle, party by party."
As one of their activities, the group is taking part in a global attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Largest Simultaneous Dance, by performing Michael Jackson's "Thriller." The event is planned for October 27. Check out the Thriller in Seattle Web site to get involved.

Interesting. On the "Seattle Freeze," I've heard if you want to make friends, you have to take a number and wait for somebody to die... ;-(
