Local woman ties blood alcohol record
The Washington State Patrol says a Pierce County woman registered 0.50 on her blood alcohol test two hours after she was arrested (the legal limit is 0.08). And she didn't do so well on her field sobriety test either -- the arresting deputy said she was unconscious the entire time, slumped behind the wheel. The 0.50 ties an earlier record with a King County man back in 2000. No, there are no trophies for this sort of accomplishment -- police said this level of intoxication often ends in death.
