VISA has announced that it will provide a real-time clearing for purchasers using its debit cards.
The change will work this way:
When you pay, VISA will hold the average amount of a tank of gas at your station, around $100. When you finish pumping, the real cost will be sent to the bank. lt will have 2 hours to release any funds.
VISA promises most total transactions will take just 15 minutes.

Danielle Gamotis is a very nice lady, who's been through a very long wait.
It's been almost four years since she ordered her wedding album.
She really got caught up in a mess - a photography business that has changed hands twice, the lack of an album at her price point, and a total lack of communication.
The current owner of Otto Motal photography seemed really ready to end this whole ordeal.
It didn't start on his watc...

There's one alarming fact that stands out in our recent story on plumbing contractors with felony records. No matter how serious or recent their crime, no matter how likely they are to re-offend, no one in this state can keep them from holding a plumbing or electrical license.
That seems like a recipe for trouble, given that some of these licensees are going into private homes everyday.

The disappearing contractor is something we are getting used to here at "Get Jesse".
What's with these guys? Last night we had a Lynnwood woman who hired a tree cutting service start a job. They did and then vanished. At least when we got a hold of the business they stepped up and finished what they started.
So what can you do?
Number one: Never pay for the whole deal upfront.
Secondly, check with the Department of Labo...

This kind of story is among the toughest to do. Company shuts its doors leaving customers in the cold, and no one wants to take responsibility.
We really try to find some kind of resolution in these reports. But sometimes the people who run these businesses would rather run and hide than face the music.

This story is really about doing the right thing.
Here's the background: A number of customers took their pianos to Kent's Second Hand Pianos (SHP) for consignment. In other words, a customer gives the pianos to SHP, then SHP refurbishes the piano, sells it and gives the customer the proceeds minus fees.
But SHP has gone out of business.
We know of at least three customers who have no idea where their pianos are and there may...

This stuff is just incredible. It really, really is.
Buyer on eBay gets sued by a seller for leaving neutral feedback. Seller is sex offender on the run. Wow. And he's worried about his reputation?
What surprised us is that we had all kinds of difficulty getting court information from North Carolina. And then, we get a call from a detective from the Henderson County Sheriff's Department asking for OUR help.
We're told the man...

It's a letter we've seen before. Someone overpays on a bill and the company takes its time to get back to you.
It's funny, when you are a little late on a bill, some companies are quick to put their legal team in action.
So when Spc. Jeff Cannizzaro called us, it was another one of those cases.
He had tried for months to get his 48 bucks from Sprint. I mean, the guy was a little busy fighting for his country in Iraq to take a...

We've all seen those products that make big promises and just don't deliver. The jury is still out on if the Tobi Steamer works well. But returning one has been a serious problem for some folks.
Last night, we told the story of Cheryl Rice from Kenmore. She bought one Tobi Steamer and got two. She was then charged $200.
Cheryl sent the steamers back the next day - well within the 60-day "money back" guarantee time frame.
But...

Seattle sushi eaters, rejoice.
Mercury levels found in tuna at local grocery stores and restaurants are lower than in other cities. Seattle performed much better than tests conducted in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Diego.
Why?
More restaurants are staying away from bluefin tuna. The bluefin is a very large predatory fish that accumulates lots of toxins including mercury. According to many environmental experts, the ...
