Life after Folklife Shooting Bookmark and Share

7:34 AM Thu, Jun 12, 2008 |

As Sarah Thorsnes limps around her Renton apartment, favoring her right side because a bullet is still lodged in her thigh, she is constantly reminded of being shot while enjoying the music at the Folklife Festival three weeks ago.

"It's quite painful if I try to walk too much," said the 21-year old.

The couple had been living pay check to pay check even before the shooting sidelined them. Now, they're out of work and wondering what to do next. Red tape is preventing them from getting disability and unemployment benefits.
They ask, "Where's the help for the victims who are just completely bystanders of a situation?"
