On Saturday evening, a 35-year old woman went into the Whole Foods in dowtown Seattle and helped herself to a big illegal discount.
According to the police report, store managers saw the suspect kneeling beside the makeup shelves. She allegedly started unwrapping makeup items like an enzyme mask, a firming mask, Mineral Fusion Body Care, etc. She then put the items in her purse and hid the empty packages behind other food items.
The woman went to the checkout and paid for a host of other products but not the makeup in her purse. The goods were worth more than $246. The woman walked out but was soon joined by store security and later the police.
Earlier in the day, a 50-year-old woman didn't even wait to get home to try on the loot. According to the police report, the woman entered the Whole Foods in North Seattle and picked out a black sweater, on sale for $79. Store employees say the suspect put on the sweater and wore it (the tags were hanging inside the collar area) throughout the store.
When police confronted the suspect, she said "it blended in with her other black top that she had been wearing and she mistakenly didn't pay for it."
