In the past month, Seattle Animal Control has captured two servals in West Seattle. Although they were underweight and malnourished, they tell us these wild African cats are much bigger and more dangerous than domestic cats - and are also illegal in the city. Sometimes serval owners bite off more than they can chew: They adopt the cats without realizing the expense to raise them. (Feeding them can be quite costly.) 5 Comments |
HA HA a serval is only slighy bigger than a cat what would you do if there was a large dog roaming about seal off the city and send the army in? drama queens
Servals are not just "slightly" larger than a house cat. Servals have a body length of 67 to 100 cm and weigh from 9 to 18 kg. They aren't lions but they sure aren't fluffy or snowball either.
If people would only get a real cat or a dog as a pet, there would be less animals in the shelters. What these idiots don't realize, is that wild animals such as Serval cats, rats , snakes and the such just aren't pets. Nothing like having your favorite aligator come and sit on your lap and let you pet and love on him while you watch tv. People have completely lost their senses. Mostly the common ones.
Saftey aside...
It's amazing to me that one serval is illegal - yet when i call animal control because all of my neighbor's 13 cats (no joke) are crapping on my lawn, the response is "If they were dogs we could help, but we have no control over cats".
Sounds like it's time for a good pellet gun.
I agree with septic tank!!!! Drama queens!!!!
