Who hasn't hosted a little gathering at home among friends and new acquaintances after a night at the bars? I for one have attended a few after hours. But here's a cautionary tale about opening up your house for a late night shindig. A couple of twenty-somethings hosted a late-night party at their First Hill apartment in the wee hours of Wednesday morning after a night out at the clubs. Several friends joined the festivities. Then, according to the Seattle Police report, unknown suspects casually walked in through the open apartment door and pretended to be part of the party. Some 10 minutes passed and the uninvited guests walked out of the apartment with one of the resident's $2500 MACbook PRO laptop. It wasn't until after the strangers left that the partygoers asked "who were those guys? and who invited them?" 6 Comments |
Ask anyone who has held a very large post-wedding party and you'll hear the stories. A great venue for party crashers. No one knows them and those that wonder just figure its some unknown relative of "friend" that was invited. Not a lot of theft but do they ever help themselves to the food and drink. Especially the latter.
Seriously? In my 38 years I have never invited a group of strangers over to my home after a night at the clubs, a friend or two maybe, but who in their right mind in this day and age would ever invite a stranger from a night club into their home. They are lucky they only lost their Mac, serves them right. What idiots.
Actually the laptop owner got ripped-off twice: the first time is when the dumb slob dropped $2500 for a Mac. LOL. I guess some people are natural-born victims.

Rich you misunderstood the point. Its not about INVITING strangers to a gathering, its about strangers (people you or your invited guests aren't aquainted with) inviting themselves. Its like a home invasion robbery except the door's unlocked and drinks and munchies are being served by the host.
That's really crazy because usually you should ask that question when they get there instead of after they leave. But I guess that happens at a party.
