Where to begin...first of all Mr. Warnock is not a ship builder but a boat builder...big difference. He hasn't broken any laws. And for your infomation which is not correct, he has been building boats since the 60's...and who cares if his company back in 1983 went belly up... This is not news worthy...I am sure there are more important issues out there that are more news worthy then this "ship builder".....

Chris Ingalls has only seen the tip of this iceberg. Belfair is where the main plant existed for several years. Warnock has owed apparently close to 60k or more in back rent here alone. After he was kicked out of this warehouse, he had all of the leftover crap moved to a Belfair four unit large storage facility, approx. 5K sq. ft. I know the owner of this storage facility. Again, Warnock left him empty handed with over seven months rent of four storage units. About $2000.00 total each month. Everything left in these units are pratically garbage, I've seen it myself. I was approached to run the Mirage plant here in Belfair. It smelt funny then, now I know! Bob, the guy in the story running the current Mirage plant in Tacoma, isn't honest either. He screwed over one of my best friends that eventually took over Bob's drowning Des Moines repair/service center, "South Paw Marine"
It gets way to ugly from here! I feel for all the screwed. There is way too much of that going on in our marine marketplace. As a service/dealer shop owner, it makes it that much harder to gain our customers trust. It's bad enough when the shops do it. But on a scale this big, I can only pray for the last honest guys left.

FYI-Beware of "Pickering Marine" near the Hartstene Island bridge. Left my boat to get winterized...left it outside without taking the plug out. Picked it up...towing seemed heavier than normal. Got back and water was 2/3 up on a 454. Took an hour to drain. Brought it back complaining and for them to take care of the damage. They wanted to charge me for the additional work and then said they would no longer work on my boat. This after spending over 4K over the last 5 years. He doesn't take responsibilty for anything and won't look you in the eyes during conversations. Other people I know have complaints too. Spread the word! Stay away from Dudley the owner...definetly a dud. That's the only way to send a message (and the BBB). I recommend Don at the Boat Shop in the Tri Star Upholstery building off of Pickering Road.

The boat business is ripe for the kinds of people like the Warnocks fo this world. If the owner's do not pay the insurance, the full rate rental and try to 'buy down' the manufacturing plant, there is a great profit to be made building fiberglass boats. However, if the boat builder does all of the things his competitors are doing, he is left with a marginal profit. Sounds like this is Warnock's story, except he was able to find very gullible people and pre-sell a lot of product and now they have been hurt.
The lesson here should be to everyone "caveat emptor."
Anyone with $ 25,000.00 in their pocket should sit on it for three months before making any decision like pre-paying for anything without some real identifiable 'bonafides.' Maybe making a deposit in a CD? or maybe putting something away for a very rainy day?
Warnock is very likely a dishonest person, but the buyers here should have been more asture and careful.

I worked for Mr. Warnock's uncle in the boat business from 1972 to 1983 and we were very aware of Mr. Warnock's business practice's all those year's ago. He had the "story" and if you fell into his clutches, you lost. We were warned to not deal with him all those year's ago and he is still at it, God will have to judge him because man's law is too weak, but he won't get out of that judgement. Keep praying for his interview.

You would be amazed at what a crook Phil Warnock is. My file on him is very large. My husband and I are one of him MANY MANY victims but we are one of the few that ever recieved a boat from this crook. He took our boat in 1997 to use as a mold for a new boat design. He stripped our boat of anything valuable and left it in a field. We were finally able to locate where (what was left of the boat) was and took pictures. He preceeded to tell us that our new boat was almost finished always saying it would be two more weeks, two more weeks. He even brought one of the few boats he actually produced for us to try. He has an amazing way of sucking you in. It was a three year process to finally get a boat and the ONLY reason we got a boat was that when we filed a lawsuit that he was in breach of contract and because he was selling the same boat(same vin number) to other customers, people came out of the woodwork with information about what a crook this man is. He doesn't pay his rent or his employees and he squeeks by with bankrupcy or changing of names each time or having his wife be the head person etc. each time. This has got to stop. We met him when he owned Financial Services Corporation (marine division), then Tiger Trax Water Sports Boat Company then Global Marine Specialties. He has also had the New Jolly Roger Marine Corportation, Fibertech Inc. was owner of the Renton Fitness Center which also ripped off customers. I have many newspaper articles telling about his bad business practices and bad check writing. He is GUILTY of fraud on so many levels that I hope Attorney General can do SOMETHING about Phil Warnock before he cheats more people out of their money and boats. Do not trust Phil Warnock with ANY of your money or possessions. You are just asking to be ripped off.

The bottom line is you got a more expensive boat in the end for what the orginial deal was.....Slugman you have no idea why he plead guilty, it certainly wasn't for what you think it was for. And mike from C & J marine calling anyone a criminal is like calling the kettle black.....The bottom line is that everyone who has commented can't judge Mr. Warnock because their hands are not clean...And again for Slugman, I am not a criminal just a plain citzen who knows more about things then these susposed "experts" who commented on here.

Oh Deshaun, I have not even begun to tell the whole truth. When, not if, charges are brought against Phil Warnock I plan being in the courtroom and watching his butt get hauled off to jail. What he does to people is wrong. Yes I am one of the FEW people who did get a boat but it is not the boat that we ordered or even wanted. We have also had many and I mean MANY problems with the PHIL WARNOCK Tiger Trax boat. Which we have had to fix. Every year it is something. We are also out money because we had to retain a lawyer to even get the Tiger Trax boat. So I think the whole "I got a more expensive boat in the end" quote really doesn't hold water. well i do know that the two upper guys that were tring to run the shop on a thin line of cash infusum where very disapointed with the way it all came down . i think that the main guy that ran the shop left around december leaving bob and a chris guy to run the plant , i worked with them for a little while i do know that mirage does owe 3 venders some money ,do not get me wrong i do not think what he has done is wrong but people that pay for a boat up front are stupid and that he should never had taken money for this. as for the crew from mirage they got shafted they did not all get paid in full but the other hand is did they try to go to court to get their money??? i do not think so as for about 3-4 people from the belfair plant that did not get all their money back i hope they do get they cash they diserve if nothing else at least make them get their cash that they are owed

well well well...I am going to address a few discontentful comments made towards myself. I am very much an American and fully believe in the principles in which this country was founded on. I am not saying Mr. Warnock is innocent business man, I am saying that there is more pressing issues in the business world then this Northwest boat builder who pissed off a bunch of people. There are bigger crooks in the world then Mr. Warnock ( which at this point is all alligations against him) For one start with our goverment, wether that is at the state level or our federal government. Or better yet reporters who don't report all the facts , only being selective in what he is reporting on.

Deshaun, This man not only ripped off a lot of people, he also neglected to pay people who did things to make him money,(Employees). As an employer, I pay L&I, Employment securites, FICA, and SSI. Why should he be exempt, do you want to pay his share. Warnock needs to be held accountable.

The check i have in my hands that was bounced to my company wich is 1 of 2 is by corrie thomas. after asking a ex employee that we meetat the tacoma plant she told us that mr thomas is his son hum i wonder how far the apple feel from the tree so like father like son

Not sure who Corrie Thomas is but I know Phil has a past with bad check writing. Phil Warnock was charged years ago with 209 counts of theft and writing bad checks. He was charged in King County Superior Court. This was during the time he had the "New Jolly Roger Marine Corp." one of his MANY companies no longer in existance.

Warnock doesn't sign checks for legal reasons. He is teaching his son Corrie all about white collar crime and how easy it is to get away with in the state of Washington. His time is coming.

Mr warnock was a real winner i dealt with him in tacaoma and he always wanted something defferent in the Upholstery for his boats as he would say i made alot of notes and i also talked to him directly many of times. he always put his plant ,manager in front of us but we all knew that he was running the shop pulling the strings. He had a employee that was his son named corry he was i think a purchasing agent but he wrote the checks to us and others
i just want others to know that he jipped us and i dont want others to get taken by him and his son again

I worked for Warnock when he had Tiger Trax Boats. My paychecks bounced each time I was paid. I eventully made a complaint with the state labor board.
I remember several people that ordered boats and never received them. A gentleman from Japan came and ordered 9 or 10 boats and never received any at all. Phil did receive thousands of dollars from this poor guy and kept the money. I also remember Phil taking Bay Liner Boat hulls and pretending they were his own "Tiger Trax" hulls.
Anybody who works for him or have any dealings with him is crazy. My buddy also worked for him and had been friends with him in Spokane. He also owed my friend money for wages.
I am sure that anyone that has been in any type of business dealings with Phils has a bad story to tell. Not everyone has come forward yet!!!
