Generous response to homeless women’s church

We ran a story Saturday (Dec. 15) about the Church of Mary Magdalene, a church for homeless women that will soon be homeless itself. It needed rent assistance to the tune of $10,000 a year.
Within four days, four people came forward, each offering $10,000!

One of them dropped off his check at the KING 5 studios. The gentleman explained he annually makes a donation in memory of a Vietnam War buddy (Sam) who saved his life, but he couldn't save Sam. He still has a hard time talking about it.
The Church of Mary Magdalene doesn’t accept any government funds, just private donations. And it does save lives.
One client, Jessie, says if it wasn’t for the church, "I’d be six feet under."
How wonderful the donors must feel to offer folks such hope!
