Here's some insider insight into Friday night's rescue operation in Mason County.
A woman was stranded on a logging road just north of Lilliwaup. Her boyfriend had just gone over a cliff in their SUV. KING 5s helicopter, SkyKING, first spotted the woman and called in the location to rescue teams. SkyKING landed on the soggy road to help the woman, and stay with the woman, until firefighters arrived. SkyKINGs pilot Mark Hansen, and photojournalist Don Metcalf, were key to saving her life.
