This all began as a tip from a viewer. They had concerns over a local building supplier not delivering goods people paid for.
In the course of our investigation we found out that Community Building Supply, later called CB Supply had a large number of civil cases and judgments against it. It was customers, investors, businesses and the state all looking asking for monies owed.
I understood the desperation of these people when we learned that the company CEO Tim Wickstrom had filed for bankruptcy.
They are afraid of only getting pennies on the dollar at best.
The part of the story that really hit home was Wickstrom's father, John.
He was on the paperwork for the State as a partner for the company. He denies it, completely. John says he paid his son's bills and helped him get the business off the ground. And when Tim stopped paying the bills, creditors came after John.
The lawsuits followed. He ended up selling some of his property to keep the lawyers at bay. John says since the State declared the business a partnership, he had to pay back taxes on the business. He has really paid the price in this sad story.
Father and son haven't spoken for more than a year.

Whoa, I highly disapprove of you prefacing your story tonight on the news by saying that this man was using "Christianity" as a business leverage on unsuspecting customers and then robbing them of their money. What does Christianity have anything to do with this man's criminality? That would be like saying he did it because he was black or gay. It is not politically correct or morally correct for that matter for you to even mention his faith. You would not have brought up faith at all if he were a Muslim, a Hindu, a Buddhist or a Jew. If he were a Gypsy you would not have said that he "jipped" them out of their money, rightfully so because it would have been wrong, just as it was for you to mention he was a Christian. I know Christianity is a popular target for all of you in media nowadays but it does not make it right. What happened to nondiscrimination based on race, gender,RELIGION or creed? Your sideways jab tonight in your story was a passive-aggressive way of attacking Christianity without overtly saying it. You should be ashamed of yourselves for this cowardly, bigoted act!
I'm assuming that Wickstrom is not a member of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties. The MBA is made up of 4,500 builders, remodelers, designers and suppliers.
The MBA logo means something, and you may want to mention it as a follow up to the Wickstrom/Community Building Supply rip off. Consumers should thoroughly check out contractors, and the MBA is a good place to start.
On Saturday, 5/19, from dawn to dusk more than 360 MBA member builders will construct 27 free wheelchair ramps for disabled persons in King and Snohomish Counties. MBA President Bill Irons will be building a ramp in Seattle and could comment on MBA membership as something consumers should look for before investing in a builder. If you'd like more information call me directly at 206-579-4883. You've done a nice job of cornering Wickstrom. Interviewing an MBA board member involved with a community project will give consumers the information they need before making such a large financial commitment.

Hey,
I don't think I was taking a shot at all Christians. If I did I'm in real trouble once I get home. But if you feel I insulted you, I apologize. But, some of these people who dealt with Wickstrom, mostly Christians, said the way he used his faith bothered them.
In fact, at least one Christian family really wanted that mentioned in the story.
We took a look at everything and made the decision to bring it up.
Again, those affected thought his approach was problematic.

Timothy Wickstrom gives Christians a REALLY BAD name.
Timothy Wickstrom pursued my husband for over a year with job offers for Community Building Supply but wouldn't offer a written contract and later approached him as CB Supply with a written contract.
We moved our family from Colorado to Washington (I was 7 months pregnant) because we had hopes of a better future for our children. We were wrong. Everything out of Timothy Wickstrom's mouth was a lie. From the work that he told my husband they were just overflooded with which was why we had to move our family, with 2 weeks notice, to Washington and couldn't wait to have our daughter in Colorado with our family because my husband HAD to be in Maple Valley, Washington for all of this "work". To the bounced and late paychecks and the late housing allowance checks and the missing bonus my husband was supposed to receive. Our first and last Christmas in Maple Valley, WA was a very depressing one because my husband no longer had a job due to the fact that Timothy Wickstrom was running CB Supply Illegally (operating on wetlands), failing to pay employee wages (his own employees were paying other employees paychecks and housing allowances) and last but not least he was running what the IRS calls a Corporation Sole - "Promoters of the scheme misrepresent state and federal laws intended only for bona-fide churches, religious institutions and church leaders." http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=121566,00.html
So, yeah, it does have a lot to do with religion. Tim Wickstrom was using his religion so he could operate his companies as Corporation Soles so he wouldn't have to pay taxes. Look up Glen Stoll and Kent Hovind. They are the "masterminds" behind the Coporation Sole scam.
Timothy Wickstrom and Marnie McGregor-Wickstrom should be in jail for what they have done. They are career criminals and will continue to take advantage of innocent people, the Government and whomever they can screw over.

Jesse Jones thank you for the job you have done exposing a career criminal that has been making a living from cheating people of their hard earned money. He not only focused on strangers but family and friends as well. In fact I will go as far as saying that Timothy Wickstrom actually befriends the victim before he scams them. To suggest that this journalist is simply creating a reason to slander Christian belief is ignorant. I am only assuming that an individual whom would make such a statement has not been affected directly by Mr. Wickstrom careless behavior. If they had, they the individual would make a much more intelligent argument. To suggest Jesse Jones was trying to create a reverse racism forum is offensive to me. I am sure that the thoughtful critic would suggest that I also have no merit as I have not been affected directly by Timothy Wickstrom. I wish that were the case. Much like others I suspected something but I could not put my finger on it. I visited Mr. Wickstrom at his home for several days before I had agreed to any relationship. Of coarse with any relationship based on money no good would come of it. In fact a set of tickets that were purchased for the Mariner's Baseball games, mentioned in the story, I attended. The airplane tickets purchased for me were also purchased with that poor couple’s money I am sure of it now. I had always wondered where Tim had come up with the money he flashed at me. It was all part of Timothy's scam. Thanks to those gentlemen in that video he was never able to complete his scam. Fortunately I wasn't taken for money I already had earned. CB Supply was looking for investors to invest into a really good idea that most likely would have worked under different and legitimate circumstances. The only problem the idea was lacking was bodies to appear a legitimate operation for investors. A building supply company tends to have a lot of "noise" around its operation. In order for a building supply company to turn business designs and material must be done and moved. At first Timothy lost business by trying to do designs and bidding himself. In fact that is how I first met Timothy. He was in a software training class that I was involved with. But the truth is Timothy Wickstrom was not very good at what he claimed to be good at. So he had to find people that were. That is where I come in. Timothy needed a good designer, a good production man, and some well respected trades men in the area in order to appear legitimate and clean whatever dirt had stuck to him from the Community Building Supply days. Timothy tried for over a year to get me to come work for him. The whole time I was declining his offer he was scamming people under a different name, Community Building Supply. To this day I am not sure if he is arrogant or dumb. CB Supply finally made an offer that I could not refuse. After building me my own office, shown in the video, offering a promising salary, benefits, percentage of company, and bonuses I came to work for CB Supply in September of '06. I moved my very pregnant wife, two year old, 2 dogs, and four cats half way across the nation to find the story you all saw on the news. I was there 3 months; unfortunately it was bounced checks that caused me to dig into Mr. Wickstrom past. Please don't think that I hadn't tried to do my homework prior to accepting the offer, but due to information presented to me while employed it made the "water in the rat hole" game a little easier. Timothy Wickstrom is a master manipulator that does use his "faith" to befriend and cheat innocent people. Anyone who says otherwise is honestly just not completely informed. I am looking forward to watching this turd circle the drain. Thank You for a great job Jesse Jones!

It is sad and relieving to finally hear the exposure of Tim Wickstrom's fraud. We don't wish to disclose how we know the Wickstroms but everything we've learned over the years has been personal and through very close friends all involved with him. We are sad to see all those who have been caught up in this particular scam (the story being featured is only a part of his devious past!) We also wanted to address the issue of Tim's Christianity being told in this story. He definitely uses his faith to take advantage of other people. If you know him, or are involved with him in any way you'll know this to be true. Sadly, when we hear that someone is a Christian we are more likely to trust them but that should not be the case here. If you dig deeper into the story, you'll find that Tim has tried to operate under "ministries" to avoid paying taxes (he's involved with the whole Glen Stoll deal). He really does try to keep his name off of business paperwork because of past problems and this is where other people or "investors" come in. People like his parents. His parents are good people who were severely taken advantage of. In this case, it sounds like he may actually be personal liable as his name is involved - but we've always know Tim to try and avoid his own name going down on anything legal. He's one of those people who even tries to purchase vehicles, homes, and other various assets in other peoples names so there are no personal assets of his to try and go after in a law suit. And when he runs out of money he wont be responsible for paying for these various assets. He has conned many people into going into business with him - usually using their name on the business paperwork. Things always fall through and the promises of money are never fulfilled. We even know of a situation where he partnered with somebody in a business and kept on using this person's good name and credit after the business was supposedly closed. That person now has creditors coming after him for all the debt that Tim stacked up after the partner got out. This is just one little example. Everything he does is illegal, even the big structure he built on his property for his building supply business. City records wont show a building permit and he claims it was there when he bought the property. I encourage investigators to keep digging because there is a lot more to Tim Wickstrom. Anybody and everybody who is somewhat close to him knows of a story of how he cheated, scammed, or fraudulently involved some poor and trusting person. But he is not only taking advantage of innocent people, he cheats the government by avoiding taxes and in other ways by trying to be above the law by using his "ministries". It is relieving to see Tim finally facing some consequences for his actions. It is great to see that the "system" is working and that people like Tim Wickstrom are being brought down.

Wow, we prayed for this to be brought to a closure and for Tim to have to deal with what he has done. Looking at him last night on the news, he still doesn't look like he is ready to come clean. Not sure what more has to come to the surface. His parents, who were also duped by Tim, into loaning him large sums of money, have been affected tremendously and had hoped that the collectors and tax agencies couldn’t come after them any more. However, it is still happening. His parents have had serious health issues and for us to see the stress that their own son has brought to them is heartbreaking. It is also so sad that Tim doesn't care about the complications he has brought on them, only thinking of his gain. He is in so deep he doesn’t know how to be truthful anymore. He lives in a lie.
Besides the pain and torment that Tim has brought to his customers, there is also a terrible impact to his family involved. Being a family member, this is a “Catch 22”. You don't want this kind of exposure on the news and you don't want harm to him and his family. But, in the next breath, you want Tim to come clean and face what he has done to so many people. Tim is a loving father and very caring with his own kids and other children in the family and wants the best for his family. He has been such a caring family man, always committed to family events holidays activities, social get-togethers. However, in an attempt to gain wealth, this tragedy has come between his own family, parents, brothers and some very good friends. It breaks my heart. Knowing Tim so well, this has been so hard to watch through the years. To have him get so deep instead of coming clean and getting help is so very disheartening.

When I saw Tim Wickstrom on TV last night I said, "What finally has been going around for all these years has come around." Jesse, you did a great job report and exposing him. There is a lot more to the story of Tim Wickstrom though. Tim has been scaming people for years. It's his personality. I've known Tim for over 10 years now. I've never known him to look me in the eye and be truthful in what he has said. By the way, I may be wrong, but if memory serves me he is still selling building materials only under a different company name now.
Also, as far as his dad is concerned...Jon Wickstrom is one of the nicest men I have ever met. He would NEVER steal from someone. I remember when Tim approached his father to help in real estate purchases (which have gone sideways also) Jon was willing to do what every good father would do in this situation...help his kid be successful. Now Jon and Tim haven't spoken for over a year. Tim's 2 brothers both won't have anything to do with him either since he has destroyed his parents retirement.
On another note, to the person the repsonded on Jesse slamming Christians. Stop your crying. Tim hides behind a Christian front to convince people he can be trusted. Pull your head out and think before you speak. Wickstrom is a scum bag and knows he can screw people over with the whole "I'm a Christian thing." Oh if you only knew what I know.

When I tried to confront him about a refund he told me to get the hell off his property and that he owed me nothing.
I find it highly unlikely that the companies employee knew nothing of the bad dealings.
The person that I referred him to was very unhappy as well. It seems that he left the job unfinished.

All,
I am not condoning this man's criminality. He is obviously a loser and a wantoned fraudster. I deduced that by this report. My beef has to do with the way that his "Christianity" was highlighted as being the reason why he did the things he did, as if all Christian busninessman fall under the umbrella of Wickstrom's moral compass. It is shameful that some people will jump into deals with someone, head over heals, just because they say "I am a Christian." What ever happened to "be wary lest you be deceived." It is a life principle.
Lastly, I once again question whether faith would have been mentioned if it were something other than Christianity. I deduce this because it is rarely the case.
capitalfinance,
I am not crying. I am sticking up for what I believe is right. If that is "crying" to you then you have a warped sense of what "crying" is. I do believe Wickstrom is inexcusably wrong. But I do believe that those who threw themselves at this guy unquestioningly because he said he was a "Christian" are a little to blame as well. That would be like me jumping off a bridge with someone who said they could fly and then suing him when I awake from a coma in 2 years! No one is practical any more.

I too was taken in long before the time frame mentioned by the news article. Tim did use his connection with the church to gain trust of his victims. I personnally interviewed his pastor who felt Time was sincere and a man of integrity. However, he has proven that he can fool even his own church body. A lot of what he was promoting under Changing Lives Ministries, which was how he was doing his 'business' when I first met him, I support. His stated vision for his ministry of helping others seemed admirable.
To make a long story short, in my case we were able to recover some of our investment when Tim walked away from a project that was 90% complete by completing it ourselves and getting it sold. Here again, Tim managed to ruin the credit of another family member, who Tim had convinced to put the property in his name. The article mentioned that there were 35 investors that lost around $400,000 on his latest scheme but our loss from our 2003 investment was more than half of that total. He had numerous projects like ours, with different people, going at the time so I would estimate that the losses from that era of his business are more like 1 million to 2 million dollars.

I too am a victim of Tim Wickstrom and his real estate scams. I and another investor lost nearly $250,000 in the remodel of a house in Black Diamond. I became involved with him in June of 2003 soon after he formed his non profit “Changing Lives Ministry”. He had purchased a number of properties by using family members including his father and brother-in-law as the title holders. He then went after private funds for the remodel work. The properties were supposed to be remodeled below normal contractor pricing because of his ownership of a building supply and lumber company. What was suppose to be a one year private loan to remodel a rundown 1000sf house into a 3200 sf custom home, turned into a three year nightmare of my life for myself and the other investor. The project sat idle for months at a time with no work being done, phone calls and emails to Tim went unanswered, there were numerous cost over runs. I and the other investor had to hire contractors to finish the house ourselves as well as we both spend 100s of hours of our own time working to complete the house. All I can say is that Tim lives a life full of lies, dishonesty, and deceit. And yet he continues to come off as some one who is not the person responsible for all the pain, grief, and agony caused to so many people. It’s shameful. Tim Wickstrom has certainly changes lives through his “ministry”, but in no way shape or form has they lives he has impacted be changed for the better. What’s sad about this is that he has abused the non profit corporation sole system that was originally set up to benefit legitimate religious organizations. To understand this issue further, Google “Glen Stoll”. He is the man whom Tim utilized to set up his non profit “ministry” and the search results clearly indicate that the Federal government feels differently as to the legitimacy of such “ministries”.
I regret not contacting the news media myself to expose this fraud. Thanks King5 for your work.

This is along time coming. My family has set on the sidelines; watching our dear friends at church get scammed out of wages, broken promises and thousands and thousands of dollars. I agree with Stan's blog above; yes, closer to the millions would be more accurate. The worst part is the visibility that he had within our church. The praise and honor that was bestowed on him and his wife. How can she not know? Marnie is a great lady but the question still holds true? How could she look all of us straight in the face and and not warn us or our pastors of the deception. It hurts so many of us to see this exposed and to know of the length of time that we have questioned this guy and had no way to uncover his plot to steal from close friends and congregation members. This is a fraud story along with a christian story because he prefaced his scams with christianity...

Tim needed confrontation and accountability from those who knew him. If you knew and did nothing I have great shame for you letting it continue.

As far as the religious connection, you should take a harder look there. the "church" group that Tim uses is another front for getting away from paying taxes. There have been others that belong to this group that are now cooling their heals behind bars. The article mentions the building materials scam that he was running but does not mention the realestate frauds he has been running as well. He has been getting investiors to purchase houses with a promise to cut them in on the profits once the house has been renovated and resold. He finances this by over stating the price of the house, during the mortgage phase, and then keeps the extra money for his inside buddies. The house is kept in the "partner's" name and they end up stuck with an over priced mortgage on a house they can't use. He has also been running scams on "future IPO stock offerings. One of his buddies on Bainbridge island got caught and went to prison for that one. He has taken family and friends for thousands of dollars and seems to have no problem trying it again and again. His poor father and mother have lost almost everything trying to make things right with as many people they could. This has gone to the point of them loosing the house they built themselves and all their savings they had to live out they retirement years. His father also ended up having several strokes partly because of the mental pain and anguish he has been going through.
His father was trying to help Wickstrom, he distroyed his health doing it. People are angry at what Tim did, but how do you think his parents feel to know they were only seen as a money source for Tim to take advantage of time and time again?

It sounds like there financial blessings were others life savings down the drain. I am also appauled that the Pastor was informed about Tims business practices and looked the other way while other victims were taken advantage of. Our Son came to Church Easter Sunday, for the first time in a long time. He was appraoched by Tim regarding buying building supplies from him to build a garrage. Thankfully my son asked me about it and I had heard some "Rumors" at that time and advised him to not do any financial business with Tim. My Son was devasted at the news, Tim was someone he looked up to and admired as a Christian man. Yes!! Tim used his Christianty to gain trust from others. He used the Pulpit as his platform to gain peoples trust.

There are many things I know to be true about Tim Wickstrom and there are many things I have speculated over the past 10 years that I have known him. Having lost some of my own money and some of my Father’s money in one of Tim’s “stock opportunities”, I certainly have room to be both offended and suspicious. Reflecting, I feel some conviction for not intensely researching my suspicions… Had I done so and discovered Tim to be engaging in harmful and illegal activity, I could have had the opportunity to lovingly, firmly, confront him. Perhaps he would have seen the error of his ways much sooner. If the facts of this story ring true, and I did do nothing to stop him, I feel that I have done a disservice to a very loving, loyal, honoring and generous friend.
In light of this report, it is particularly easy to allow speculation to carry my thoughts far off of the path of wisdom. While I struggle for answers and I desperately want the truth, I am reminded that wisdom requires that I only form my judgment on what I know to be true. Truth, after all, is all that will remain when everything in our lives is shaken into dust. The following I know to be true about Timmy:
There is no pretending about Tim being a Christian. I have walked with him, prayed with him, believed with him and battled along side him. He is a man who truly has a close, personal relationship with God. Unfortunately, if the above statements prove to be true, Tim has made some very poor choices. I am certain for his sake and for the sake of those who were wronged that God’s justice will be served. I also have no doubt, because of God’s unconditional love for Tim, that this situation will bring him closer and make him even more dependant upon the Lord.
Another truth is that in some of my darkest hours, Tim has selflessly given his love and support to me. He has hit his knees in prayer on behalf of me, my son, my family and many, many members of our church family. He has donated his time, his money, his talent and his youthful energy tirelessly to his church and his community. If his heart was not genuinely seeking the Lord, he could have never kept up that pace and level of service. If it were just an act, that lamp would have burned out long ago.
He has been a faithful team member in recreational sports who was always first to practice, first to pay his dues and fees, last to leave the field and first to offer to help carry a team-mate’s equipment. In fact, I can think of several seasons when Tim actually paid the fees for other team members just so they would not miss the chance to fellowship with good men. The only times he missed practices or game nights were when his wife needed his support as she was battling cancer or when his children had an engagement that he could attend. He expected excellence from himself and encouraged everyone around him to be excellent as well. While there were certainly times when his attitude and competitive nature could have been better controlled, I can name just as many times that he gently put his farmer tanned arm around my shoulder and helped me keep my composure when I would have rather let my competitive nature get the better of me. It was very clear that Timmy loved to play ball, but it was even more obvious that relationship with his brothers in Christ was the higher priority.
Having witnessed these characteristics consistently over the past 10 years, it has been very hard to read some of the statements made here. I understand that other’s experience with Tim have obviously not been positive reflections of Christianity. I am surprised and shocked to hear the depth wrong doing induced by a dear friend. And, while I make no excuse for what has occurred, I refuse to believe that Tim Wickstrom is 100%, hopelessly evil. I pray that this exposure will bring healing.
I understand that some of us may have some very good reasons to be hurt. I also concede that if the statements made on this blog are proven true, that what Tim did was very, very wrong. In my sadness and confusion over these events I am tempted to speculate about and judge some of things Tim has done. Yet, I feel a deep conviction to let God and the Courts be the judge while I hold close and remember the things that I KNOW, first hand, to be true about Tim Wickstrom. Please consider them as you continue to read and educate yourself on this matter.

I have to say that reading many of these statements both saddens and disturbs me. The amount of Family, Freinds and Business relations that knew of or suspected Tims crimes and missdeeds but didnt come forward or at least warn others is shameful, selfish and cowardly.

Hey Other Church Member,
I saw financial records for CB Supply and I don't know how Marnie would have no clue as to what's going on???? She is listed on payroll for CB Supply and she in NO WAY worked for CB Supply. When Tim flew us out to Washington so my family and I could find a rental house to live in for 6 months in hopes that our house in Colorado would sell so we could buy a house in our new home state - My Husband and I had a very long conversation with Tim that went on till like 2 or 3 in the morning about his and Marnie's faith and how she is NOT AT ALL involved in his work, she has NO IDEA what he does but okay so why is she listed on payroll???? Tim also told my husband that Marnie was angry at Tim when he wanted to hire my husband because of my husbands salary. He had one of his employees and fellow church member talk to Marnie and convince her that my husband was worth the money. So, if they don't discuss business why is he discussing my husbands salary with her??? AND (not directed at Other) if Tim doesn't own CB Supply then why is he so concerned with my husbands salary. Dude and Dudette are just morons. I don't understand how they got away with this for so long. My husband was able to bring in a big time investor right after we got to Maple Valley and when Tim told Marnie about it Marnie said that's nice...I need money to go shopping.

You know what is disheartening and really scary?
When I have called and emailed all the major news station in Seattle 2 to 3 times about all this crap and I never heard from any of them. I'm really wondering how many tips came in about Tim Wickstrom...because I'd love to know if Jesse has my 2 or 3 tips I emailed in about Tim Wickstrom.
Maple Valley has no Police Department so they contract out the Counties police (which I believe is King?) Anyway, we had issues with Tim and we called the police a few times and were told they could do nothing about it unless we could catch him in the act. So, yeah how is that for feeling safe?
My husband emailed and called the IRS to report Tim. We never heard anything back.
He also called the FBI in Seattle and told them what's going on and they said it wasn't a Federal Offense but have come to find out that apparently some of the scams he was doing were federal so they are now on his tail.
Ultimately, it doesn't come down to the people getting screwed over being the ones to report. Tim and Marnie need to own up to what they did the Victims should not be ashamed TIM and MARNIE SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

I emailed this link to everyone in my address book the night the story posted on king5.
If anyone has had any dealings with the Wickstrom's you shouldn't feel embarassed or afraid to come out and tell your story. I have been reading that a lot of what Wickstrom has done and his beliefs is very similar to the Freeman in Montana back in the 90s.

To, Kelly Kling,
This is an exact statement for your previous blog:
"I am also appauled that the Pastor was informed about Tims business practices and looked the other way while other victims were taken advantage of."
You have broken two rules in this statement. First being: Tell the truth. You may not post or link to any material that could be considered libelous, defamatory or false.
And secondly: 4. Respect the privacy of others. Do not harvest or otherwise collect names, email addresses or other identifying information from other participants.
You identified that the PASTOR knew all about that. Some people know where Tim went to church so that was breaking rule 4 because you gave information that is clearly stating a person that is easily able to be found now. Also, you gave false information, A.K.A. LIED, about the pastor because you have no evidence that the pastor knew about this. I know him personally and he is not the type of person to turn a head to illegal actions. So get your story in line before posting. Also, appalled is not spelt appauled like you listed earlier.

I cannot understand any of the actions that have taken place. Taking from others intentionally in the line of a scam does not justify in giving for another cause. Using a 14 percent credit card to make payment on a 12 percent crdeit card makes absolutely no sense! My deepsest sympathy goes out to those who have been un-excusedly take advantage of. I dont care what reason it was done . . . . . . it was terribly WRONG!! It needs to be corrected. My only questions are , has the healing begun? What is the plan for correction? How will the people that have been taken advantage of proceed with forgiveness? Will their situations be rectified? They need to be. What is the plan to make that happen? Tim? Are you listening? Was there someone else involved in this mess with you? What help will be provided to Tim and his family? Sounds like a lot of dollars. Can that be raised? Has Timmy come clean and admitted GUILT PUBLICALLY? He should. He needs to. He may then find out who is really on his side and begin to re-pay for any of the alleged wrong doings and let the deep healing begin. This is a big one. I feel sorry, which is an extreme shame, for the Tim Wickstrom immediate family, his kids and their future. Think about them and their well being. What will happen now? I think we all know where this ship must head, navigate that way FULL speed ahead.

I do know Tim and Marnie have spoken in Church about their financial blessings. I did not lie and thank you for correcting my spelling.

I do know for a fact that the pastor in question had been approached on a few occasions by induviduals affected by Tim. When the pastor spoke to Tim about it the pastor was told to but out, its business matter not a church matter. And the pastor did not pursue the matter, but rather shared his pulpit with him for Tim to share how the 'lord' had blessed him financially. Tim is a thief and a liar! and honestly I don't know how Tim or Marnie can sleep at night.

So does anyone know the status of the possible law suit against Tim that was mentioned in the news story (Snohomish County Prosecutor's office)? How likely are criminal charges? I saught legal council in regards to my case in which he owes me over $150K and it seemed highly unlikely that getting a judgement against him would do any good because a man like him will never pay up. And if he owes millions in back taxes, the gov't gets their share first which means I and everyone else who has been taken will get little to nothing. However, jail time would be most appropriate.

Timothy Wickstrom needs to go to prison for a long, long time! This is one of the worst financial crimes you are ever going to hear about. Anyone who aided and abetted these crimes should serve time as well. Being religious is not a defense to multiple felony charges. Open your eyes and see pure evil for what it is.

I understand that you and the rest of John's family are in a time of mourning, and pointing fingers and placing blame makes it easier to cope....or at least that's what I hope you are doing, cause I can't imagine any other reason for posting that comment.
Tim broke the law...nowhere does it state that he was responsible for the "dysfunction" of the entire Wickstrom family...and at this point it still isn't exactly clear "who" was involved. However, it is clear that the business license has TWO names on it......
I hope justice is served and Tim is held accountable for the crimes he committed. He scammed innocent people, but he did not kill them!!
(I would take this as a reminder - no matter what profession you are in from waitress to dry wall...you will eventually pay taxes!!)

I have know problem with Tim being punished for what he did.
But I agree saying that he caused his father's death is just a bit harsh..
I knew John and his health has been bad for years. Are we forgetting that he took no interest in helping himself stay healthy. His huge weight gain and lack of caring did nothing to help his health. No matter who John's son was he was not going to live to a ripe old age..
Yes I'm sure stress didn't help. But this was not the only thing that helped in his death..
As far of Tim's exageration to everything.. I think that would be a family trait!!
I just find it hard to understand how everyone believes that Tim fooled everyone in his family but his room mate new that he was someone not to trust..I heard for years from family members how rich Tim was making everyone!! But I'm sure they were just exagerating..

That’s so great that you have such insight on CB records....So You found the name “ Justin” in the records. Also found in the records was a Starbucks and a “Wal Mart” . So should we drag down Howard Schultz? Or put Sam Walton’s picture up at the post office? Stop your dime store investigation. What Tim did is wrong. He will pay for it. If it happened to me I would be upset very upset. But let us leave the speculation of who knows what to the investors. Its wrong start pointing fingers at Pastors and Christians. What one man did in secret is the issue here. I’m sure when he was standing before his church “Testifying” he was not saying “ Hey, guess what I’m a big scammer”…..lets get real folks…The “he said she said” makes me sick….that is the problem here, the kangaroo court of public opinion is complete waste!...A mans family is coming apart. A great father has passed away and two brothers are so angry that to be honest they will suffer more from their anger then Tim ever will when his punishment finally is handed down….I guess what I’m saying is …Lest keep this in prospective. STOP the unfounded …uninformed, uneducated guessing.

I really really wish I had found this blog before I hired Mr. Wickstrom to perform electrical and installation work on our kitchen remodel. I did all the research and contacted all of his reference information and they all checked out.
The work he performed was of such a low quality that my husband had to come home in the evening and fix whatever he had done that day. He of course would not come out to work on our project when my husband was home so I felt taken advantage of. He demanded payment on my doorstep when he knew that my husband was not home. It was just me and my three boys. I felt very bullied. The work he performed was not even up to an apprentice workmanship. He cracked our cabinets while installing, made a crooked half wall and none of the electrical outlets he installed/put in GFCI outlests in worked and he did not level the floor when he laid it so the cabinets had to be raised at least 1-2 inches off the ground in an given section to make the upper cabinets at the same height. The countertop company could not even make a template for the countertop becuase the base cabinets were not plumb and level. My husband has spent almost 20 hours fixing work that he did. We have had to call in other professionals to fix his mistakes. We refused to pay him any more money. I feel fortunate that he only got $700 out of us, but that is still a lot of money to us( he cashed the check before I cold get to the bank). We are still paying for his shoddy work and having to pay for additional materials that he damaged.
I hope other see this and he does not get the chance to financially cripple anyone else. Buy the way we are down in Pierce County. Apparently he is taking his show on the road.

I even asked if he felt comfortable doing the electrical. Tim said that he was very sure of his self. I questioned Tim on a number of things. He kept talking as if I didn't know anything. If you did you would of found out that he was a good one just like his references checked out. If you also would of seen here...... Tim's deal is not about his carpentry skills, it was about someone not getting money back.
I have had Tim do work for me in the past and have been extremely happy with his work!
How is it possible to level a floor 1-2 inches without the rest of the floor being affected?
What this looks like to me, is that you saw this blog and then decided to take advantage of a man when he was down, because I can almost guarantee you that his work was not of apprentice quality.

I saw an employee on King five news: Darren Gardner from D&L construction that I had as a contractor that did me and some one one that I referred, unfairly. He charged me $1000 for an estimate on building me a home, I never got no written estimate, I Didn't get nothing for my thousand dollars.

Dear, church member. I cannot believe your comment. You sat on the sidelines and just watched "dear" friends get scammed??!! I sure hope you actually tried to talk them out of it. I know Tim well and attend his church too. I did not know any of this stuff till it hit the news and I gaurrantee I would not sit by on the sidelines and allow my friends to get scammed if I knew. Tim needed confrontation and accountability from those who knew him. If you knew and did nothing I have great shame for you letting it continue.
Furthermore, I have heard thousands of times before where people live secret lives without those closest even aware. I believe this has got to be the case with Marnie. Some wives are too busy raising their children to worry about their husbands business details. I know the whole family very well and I truly believe Marnie did not have a clue.
We have known Tim and Marnie for years from Church and the community.I am appualed at the fact they have spoken in Church many times on there finanical blessings.
Anonymous,
You know what is disheartening and really scary?
#11,
You have the wool pulled right over your eyes. Pull your head out...you sound like a caring person. Tim and Marnie Wickstrom are not. How nice of him to pay someone's way with STOLEN money.
Yeah, he was charismatic till my husband's 1st paycheck bounced. After that he wasn't pulling one more thing over my family. TIM AND HOPEFULLY MARNIE ARE GETTING EXACTLY WHAT THEY DESERVE.
Charleen,
I fully agree that folks shouldnt feel ashamed for being victimised by this maggot, but if they knew what was going on or suspected 10 years ago they should of gutted up and taken care of it. The people Im refering to all know who they are and should feel ashamed for what has happened to you and yours and all the other honest people Tim has screwed over.
I don't understand that a man of faith for 10 years (or longer) would keep doing some thing that goes against God, I can see people falling from grace because we are not perfect, but to keep doing it does not seem to me like he was walking with Christ.
Anonymous,
Thank You. I'm just trying to say if it was that hard for me to get through to anybody. Imagine how hard it would be for others. It really hurts me to say - our own friends and some family didn't really believe our story. As frustrating as that is I can say I probably really wouldn't believe the stuff Tim has done either - it just seems so far fetched.
Anonymous,
I would love to take what you just said and it post it all over the world with a giant picture of Tim and Marnie. That is SO TRUE!
"I don't understand that a man of faith for 10 years (or longer) would keep doing some thing that goes against God, I can see people falling from grace because we are not perfect, but to keep doing it does not seem to me like he was walking with Christ."
You know Tim was a giver but what he gave was stolen money from hard working individuals. Marnie in my eyes was money hungry. Always wearing the latest top fashions. Knowing Tim since his youth, I would be willing to bet he felt like he had to make the big $ to support his wifes shopping habits. He needed to make alot of money to keep her interested.

Justin and Extremely Concerned,
Thanks for Englightening us! Wow.
Justin,
You know what, the only evidence I have is subjective, the familys hurt, pain, tears, and sorrow. No, I have nothing objective, probably nothing that would hold up in court. I do know according to family members, the Pastor was notified of the situation one yr ago. I do know my Son was approached by Tim this Easter @ Church to buy building supplies. I do know Tim and Marnie have spoken in Church about their financial blessings. I did not lie and thank you for correcting my spelling.
Kelly

Justin,
I do know for a fact that the pastor in question had been approached on a few occasions by induviduals affected by Tim.
I just read all the blogs above - thru my tears. His father, John, just passed away today, I'm sure from heartache, worry, and shame. John, hold your head up high! You were a great father, a great friend - and you will sweeten Heaven with your charm. Tim's action were Tim's actions and he shall pay the consequences for the rest of his life. John is now free to laugh and smile again.
Please pray for John Wickstrom's family at this sad time. We have been family friends for over 40 years. I cried when seeing the story about Tim on the news. I cried and prayed yeaterday when I received the news of John's passing.
I'm praying for all of the people that had been hurt by Tim's actions in the past and present.
We've known the Kling's for 20 years and Kelly is one of the most honest people that I know. I thank God for her friendship and she has looked out for her family and protected her son.
I'm praying also for the church and that everyone who has been touched by Tim's story, that healing will begin to happen, especially for Tim's 3 children and other family members.
John and Nancy were great friends and Nancy especially needs everyone's prayers right now. She has lost her best friend, husband of 40 some years.

I have a client who lost a lot of money to this scam artist. It is irrelevant whether or not he loves his kids. I'm sure Gary Ridgeway was nice to some people too.
He who is without sin, cast the first stone!! Any "church Member" that can write how awful Tim is (all the while not telling us their name) needs to read the Word of God. Did he do wrong? Yes! Have all of us found ourselves in a huge mess that our sin caused? Yes! I live my life out of the mercy and grace that the Lord paid a price for. If you think your life is more put together and you don't need that same mercy and grace, then I fear for you! Good luck doing it on your own. Don't cast a stone and don't take the sliver out of someone else's eye until you have taken the log out of your own! Oh, and I don't mind putting my name on this.....
Traci,
All I have to say is "What". This is a man that has scammed his Family, Freinds,Churh, Businesses(Justin please check my spelling), Business partners and associates, and employees. This isnt about casting stones its about a criminal he doesnt care about the people or familes hes affected but folks keep writing how we should worry about his. I have nothing but the sincerest sympathy for the loss of John Wickstrom and I wish him godspeed and happy hunting. Everyone needs to focus this is not an attack on religion its Justice against someone that has used it for his own gain.
Still Anonymous,
AMEN!!!
Justin,
You should probably have a look at CB Supplies records because there is a Justin on there also.
Tim's ultimate biggest crime is killing his father!
Are you saying the death of John should be investigated?
Valley,
Im not really sure what your point is. Tim put an incredble amount of stress on his Father. Imagine what your own would feel if you were accussed of the same crimes. You say the the "Wickstrom" Family is dysfunctional. Arent we all? You are spliting hairs Tims crimes have effected everyone around him, He didnt pull the trigger but he loaded the Gun.
I was Tim's roommate back in our 20's and it didn't surprise me to see him on a King 5 investigation. He was a very disturbed person as I remember. All he did was lie. Everything he said was such an exageration it drove me crazy. I hope he gets prosecuted to the fullest extent.
Anonymous,
That’s so great that you have such insight on CB records....So You found the name “ Justin” in the records. STOP the unfounded …uninformed, uneducated guessing.
hello
JS,
Sorry to here hes out doing harm still. If he represented himself as a licensed contrator you need to contact L&I and the Department of licesing and report him if it was a cash job Im not really sure what you can do. I know Tim is into contracts so hopefully you have one and you can pursue it that way also. Good Luck.
I feel so sorry for our daughter, who hired Tim. I was there when he was working. I pointed out things to him. He looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about. I told him that my husband and I remodeled our investments, with great sucess. I guess I expected more from him than he could handle. After all he was a proferssional. I even asked if he felt comfortable doing the electrical. Tim said that he was very sure of his self. I questioned Tim on a number of things. He kept talking as if I didn't know anything. Just because of my hair color. I told our daughter that I to leave before I lost it. I can't undestand how he can be able to be for hire online with all that is going on. Is no-one keeping an eye on him so that he can't scam anyone else?
Blondie,
Would you please tell us which website Tim is advertising on?
Thank You
js-tiger,
How did you meet Tim? Was it an online advertisement and if so which website?
Thank You
He's for hire online? Can you post his link please... As I read through these postings I realize that the term "blinded by faith" really hits many of you at home. If at this time you find yourself filing through biblical quotes to hold the man's honor in recognizable regards then you too are lost with in your own morals and right doing. For God's sake he is still ripping people off! Hey Tim, with wheels like I bet you don't STEAL too many bases! (no pun intended)
If you know where Tim is posting on-line, let me know!!
Jesse

I find it odd that you contacted references and that they checked out. Did you do any research on Tim to find out whether or not he was a carpenter? If you did you would of found out that he was a good one just like his references checked out. If you also would of seen here...... Tim's deal is not about his carpentry skills, it was about someone not getting money back.
I have had Tim do work for me in the past and have been extremely happy with his work!
How is it possible to level a floor 1-2 inches without the rest of the floor being affected?
What this looks like to me, is that you saw this blog and then decided to take advantage of a man when he was down, because I can almost guarantee you that his work was not of apprentice quality.
Looks like Tim is trying to make some $$$ for his wife and kids... yes... kids.. Tim will get his.. Stop the pig pile.. Hey js-tiger, you get what you pay for.. try a contractor who is licensed and bonded next time.. You tried to save some money by not paying sales tax and got burned.. Not too shocking.. Anyways, this blog has become a bit of a downer.. Lets change it to a Fantasy Football Forum!! I am in a keeper league and have Brandon Jacobs and Larry Fitzgerald.. I finished 3rd in the league, so I have a late round pick.. I am hoping E. James falls to me.. Should I roll the dice on Lamont Jordan? Or try to take another top tier reciever? Your help is appreciated.. Don't let your opinions stop now..
Hey AB & Full Quiver,
Say Hi to Tim and Marnie!
Seriously, if you don't have anything of importance to say please don't post here.....honest people are trying to make sure that 2 bad people - TIM AND MARNIE get what they deserve!! Why would you want to make the people that TIM AND MARNIE VICTIMIZED feel bad???
Thanks
Charleen,
I think AB & Full Quiver have every right to post here..You do..I think they both have made a good point. Tim is going to be paying for his crime..So what kind of person wants his kids and wife to suffer so much..
You need to go on and get a life..Believe me there is a lot worst crimes out there.
Lets face it the only thing that Tim is going to get in trouble for is the tax stuff. Most people who get scammed usually were trying to get over on paying what they should and trying to get that deal that.. if it's to good to be true it's to good to be true!!
Suck it up and go on!!
Hello Charleen, I read your post from May... That was messed up, moving the whole fam to a different state for a bogus job.. I hope your husband has found another good job and everything is OK.. Its time for you to let it go and let the authorities take over.. You being so bitter and obsessed with all this cannot be good for you.. All that said! I ended up taking Clinton Portis in the 1st round.. I know, I know.. injury proned! But I decided to take a risk w/ the keepers I had.. If it pans out, I should win the league.. I also have a few good recievers as well as San Diego defense. All in all.. I feel good.. I will keep you all posted, luckily I am in a week division :)
"You need to go on get a life"
and
"you so bitter and obsessed with all this".
If (God Forbid) Tim and Marnie had taken advantange of, lied and robbed your familiy and friends would you seriously tell them this? I really hope not.
AND I am pretty sure all the people sueing Tim right now and the IRS AND FBI are definently NOT going to "just let it go".
Charleen,
I had a chance to meet your husband when he was working with tim. I really don't think your husband came out here for a job because he loved tim. I'm assuming that he came out here for money, isn't that the usual reason for a job? If that's the case, it looks like your husband received over $32,000 for less than three months of working.
It looks like to me, that you are pissed of that it didn't work out like you had hoped it would, and now you want to keep the train going on something that will take care of it self by the time it is all done.
You and your husband received alot of money for a short amount of time....... I'm sorry for your inconvienence for coming out here, but you probably need to get over it!
Get your facts straight. If you thought my husband moved his family out to Maple Valley for $32,000 you are sadly mistaken.
Seriously, you need to grow a set and post your real name.
I guess the IRS will be after you soon and we'll be watching you running away from King5 reporters as well.
I CAN'T WAIT :O)
Well I have to say there are still a bunch of you out there drinking the Koolaid.
Full Quiver you must be full of something, mainly yourself and S#@$. You have plenty of your own opinions what are they based on? Does it make you feel superior to belittle folks or is it just a character flaw? Really doesnt matter anyway we all get whats coming.
AB Tim is a pretty good carpenter not the best Ive worked with but good. But imagine what kind of work you would do with the DOJ, IRS, Creditors, Customers, Business Partners, State of Washington, Ect.... on top of you. I agree he's in survival mode trying to take care of his family wouldnt everyone of us.But taking more folks is not the way to do it. I have no idea who JS is and I dont know what happened on that job site.
Save the best for last, Helping Hand. Of course they came for the money!
Who wouldnt Tim is a great salesman (con artist and crook). C&C are two of my best freinds and they were conned into coming up here
by this nutcase. Ive read the contracts Tim wrote and they were very specific about monies to be paid and when they were supposed to be paid. They used alot of the funds just for the expenses for the move plus leaving a job, medical insurance, Home (On the MARKET), everything, and Charleen was 8 months pregnant. Run that by your own wife. Im also alittle flusterd about your numbers acoording to Tim all the records were sent to the "Guy In Charge" .
I have alot more of my own opinions about this mess but Ill keep them to myself .
Drop the glass the KoolAids SPIKED!!!!!!!!!!!
When is Tim going to court?
I thought he had been to court for the month of August already?
Jesse, we are eagerly awaiting the follow-up story :o)
Sounds like he will be going to jail soon......
Don't know if anyone is reading this blog any longer but just in case they are... My name is Dennis Wanner and I am the one that was on the news. Tim's court case continues and while I was hoping to stay out of it I have been requested to appear in court. I am having to meet with the prosecuting attorney and wish anyone that has anything that might help the case to come forward on this blog.
Dennis-
I am more than willing to testify against Tim. He took me and another investor to the sum of over $250K. Feel free to email me at nevershankit@yahoo.com
