Sonics president Wally Walker is resigning on Halloween. Hmmm. What say you about his departure spurred by the new owners from Oklahoma?

The stiff is getting benched and released...just like his past white guy draft picks and trades! How appropriate!

his departure is about 16 years too late...He, as much as anyone, is responsible for the destruction of the Seattle Sonics...good riddance...leave the area too Wally Wimple!

I'm glad Wally's leaving. He has been nothing but an embarassment to fans and brought lots of bad things to the Seattle SuperSonics organization. Granted, the new ownership group will probably move our franchise to Oklahoma City next year, but it's good to see Wally finally go. It's been a long time coming.

Wally Walker - Woody Woodward. Please let's never have another GM with the initials 'WW' in Seattle Sports franchises again.

I'm glad that Wally's leaving. Maybe now we'll get somewhere. Although, part of me wonders if Wally knows something we don't? That is that the team really isn't going to stay here in Seattle?

Should have happened years ago. They might not have been sold if it would have put a decent team together. See ya!!

It came a few years too late started with the grumblings of Shawn Kemp trading that depressing player for another depressed player in Vin Baker and then the signings of Jim McIllvane and Calvin Boothe and then trading for an aging Patrick Ewing no wonder George Karl and Nate McMillian left I wouldn't want to be here either with all the blunders Wally made.I don't know what was worst Wally the player in the Sonics orginazation or Wally the GM.Hey maybe you can work for Paul Allen in Portland and make them worst than they already are.

I agree with the majority of the folks commenting. YAHOO, what took so long. I have been wondering why ol Wally made it this long.

Glad to see the new owner get something right.
Wally was an "average" NBA player that only got to play if the Sonics were winning big or losing big during his short career - was a terrible GM and President and the team went down hill since he was involved with player selection. Its amazing how someone so "average and not qualified" got those positions. It just goes to show when you have an owner that knows nothing about basketball, goes out and buys a team and trys to run it into the ground.
