Day after day, the killing in Iraq goes on. Iraq's new government can't stop it. So, the president -- under pressure to start bringing U.S. troops home -- instead sends in a 1,500 member "quick reaction force" as a "temporary deployment..."

Did you notice how a British reporter noted at the Bush/Blair news conference last week how both leaders must be "relieved" that Iraq's new government still lacks a minister of defense? The "relief" that reporter spoke of referred to both leaders ability to delay the question: when can coalition troops start to come home? Can't discuss that, both Blair and Bush said, until the Iraqis have a defense minister.

The trouble is the Iraqi PM al Malaki may find it difficult to find a "unity" defense minister as long as the Sunni-led insurgency remains viable. The challenge: how to break this circle?

The way to break the circle is to give the order for troops to leave.

As Robert Parry says, Bush is complicit in the crimes being committed in Iraq every day because he lied about the link between 9/11 and Saddam Hussein. A poll last fall showed troops on the ground believe they are taking revenge for 9/11. Who gave them that idea? George Bush and any of the Democrats who voted for the war and keep funding it as if it was a legal, necessary war.

The only way to stop the killing is for our troops to leave. Iraq (and it's resources) for the Iraqis.

I also wanted to thank King 5 for covering the protests at the Port of Olympia with a on-site reporter and video. I just saw a news story where American troops have killed two women, one who was on her way to deliver a baby.

THIS HAS GOT TO STOP.

When did Americans become such a bunch of pussies? I'm not all for war, but I am for keeping all the crap on someone elses dirt and not ours. All of you anti-war greeners have no idea just what it would be like if we did things your way. We would be in a real world of hurt under your ideas. Believe me, you wouldn't be acting like a traitor to the United States then.

Why is it that we can never get a count of our guys that are dieing for our country. Is it that difficult to keep track? I know of three in the last few days. If it is important for our guys to be fighting, isn't it just important to know how many are died?
