The stories coming out of Cancun are horrific. Desperate people do desperate things in desperate times. For Northwest tourists, it could be several more days before flights resume back to Seattle. Alaska Airlines told me this afternoon it will be Wednesday at the earliest before flights resume. The airline is considering sending a larger jet with more seats to Cancun to help get more people out. 1 Comments |
This blog, and Linda Brill's piece Tuesday night, just point up the "nanny-state" mentality most Americans have fallen into. Just because the US government did not tell them to flee Cancun, they stayed...and now they are paying the price. I have no sympathy for them. When the hurricane was in the vicinity of the Cayman Islands it was time to pack up and leave, not wait for someone to tell them to leave. Disgusting.
