This just in from Jean Enersen: "My dad loved his doctor, Jim Tremann, a urologist who treated dad's various health problems. He had supreme confidence in this doctor, a confidence we think helped dad get through long and grueling surgeries. We three kids (all adults - a lawyer, a teacher and a reporter) were always treated kindly by Dr. Tremann, when acting as dad's 'board of directors' Needless to say, given our professions, we asked him a lot of questions. Dr. Tremann was patient with us, and both caring and skilled with dad. It was with great regret dad learned that Dr. Tremann would retire last year. And it was with profound regret that we learned this week Dr. Tremann had died. It was from complications of hemachromatosis. It is an inherited disease in which iron accumulates and damages the body, especially the liver. It can be diagnosed with a blood test, but is often missed in check-ups. |
