The KING 5 HealthLink team, Pat Duggan, Joan Kinsey and I joined the more than 5,000 other women who entered the Danskin Triathlon this past weekend with the proceeds benefitting breast cancer research. There are so many eager participants, I'm told this Seattle Triathlon is in the Guinness Book of World Records. Our team finished -- that was a record for us, as none of us had ever even done a triathlon before. But the truly amazing part of this event is not only the athletes of all shapes and sizes, doing the half mile swim, 12 mile bike ride, and 3 mile run, not only a team that included a 93-year-old grandma... but the more than 300 breast cancer survivors who led the way. Who needs more inspiration than that to go out and give it a try? Trying in every way we all can... to beat breast cancer. 3 Comments |
