Great news for 'Almost Live!' fans Bookmark and Share

4:18 PM Wed, Aug 24, 2005 |

It's been six years since the last episode of Almost Live! went off the air, but just about everyone has a favorite memory of the late-night comedy show. Coming on September 12th on KING 5, you'll get to watch an hour of the best memories -- and new sketches -- in the Almost Live! Reunion Special. The show will feature many of the original cast, and they're already hard at work writing the special (we see them darting in and out of the KING 5 building). And stay tuned, we're putting together an extensive section on KING5.com featuring some of the best video from the show's 15 years.

This is going to be awesome!! I only wish the old episodes were on DVD.
There are a lot of times I wish I could see some "High Fivin' White Guys", or Cops in Ballard.

Almost Live was one of the best things about growing up in Seattle.

OHMYGOD! I haven't thought about Almost Live for years.. Like Chad, I loved the High Fivin' White Guys! Hilarious. Can't wait for the reunion.

Oh please please please please please please have a clip (new or old, I don't care!) of Mind Your Manners with Billy Kwan. It was honestly the one single sketch that made me fall on the floor laughing over and I would be in heaven if I could just catch one more glimpse.

Will you PLEASE offer the Almost Live Reunion show to viewers on DVD or VCR????
We'll pay for it! (well, within reason.)

It's a time capsule, and well worth distribution!

(Uh, I know they need the money, but $25+/- would be a best seller price!!)

Don't charge us too much, it will have to cost less than a tank of gas!

Local programming is a lost art on TV.
Look at all of the awards Almost Live has earned on local television.
I agree that it would be great to see Almost Live released on DVD in some way. Perhaps a best of, or classic collection etc.

This is a show that should not be lost and forgotten. I hope that the marketing people at King 5 know that Almost Live still has many fans. Please consider a DVD collection.

Please, please, please release Almost Live on DVD, VHS.. anything!

In the early 90s a TV station in Utah (I have long forgotten which) used to air Almost Live after SNL. Though I didn't get some of the local jokes, I still loved the show. There's got to be a way to release this on DVD, I'm sure the fan base would snap it up at any price.

I have to echo the previous sentiments and several that can be found online. RELEASE "ALMOST LIVE" ON DVD!!! Back in '99, me an my wife planned on celebrating our 2nd anniversary, which fell on a Saturday, by going to a taping of Almost Live. Then you had to go and cancel the show. So I would appreciate you paying me back for the months of therapy that we had to endure from the sheer emotional distress by releasing the show on DVD. Thanks.

Ditto - please release Almost Live on DVD. I think there would be a surprising number of people willing to purchase it. Look what happened with the Family Guy on Fox - the DVDs were so popular they brought the show back!

I loved this show, it was on Comedy Central (it might have been the Comedy Channel at the time) many years ago during the daytime, and I thought that Almost Live was the most hilarious show that I had ever seen, so by releasing it on DVD, it might give some people outside of the local area to re-experience the show.

Please, please release a DVD! I think a lot of fans would love to be able to see their favorite sketches and share them with family and friends! The show may not have been profitable when it was airing, but I'd be shocked if a DVD release didn't prove to be very lucrative!

Almost Live! deserves a DVD release. Why not test the waters by releasing one of A.L.!'s VHS collections, or even the reunion special, on DVD? Or simply announce that such a move is being considered to see how the public reacts? Surely there would be sufficient consumer interest to make it worth King 5's while. If J.P. Patches can still sell toys and people still buy Stan Boreson's albums, then Almost Live! will turn a profit on DVD releases.

Almost Live! does deserve a release of some kind. How about selling some episodes through the iTunes music store to test interest? I doubt that much investment would be required...

Please put Almost Live on DVD!

For the love of god and all that is good about DVDs, please release at least something from the Almost Live vault! A best of collection, or the reunion special, or even 1 episode via podcast... anything! I'll buy it, my friends will buy it, heck most of Seattle will buy it! And that's not even mentioning those outside Seattle who might buy it too (I know Almost Live was shown in California). Please please PLEASE release it on DVD!

I loved this show. Better than second city TV. Please release it to DVD, VHS, or anything.
